How odd. The game crashes with a `Critical Error: <TLevel/0/0> Level "level1" not found!` error when entering the Church, and neither the poisoned water supply nor wounded townsman seem to generate.
This happens only with the Linux build, as downloaded from this thread. The Windows version seems to run fine, even if looking somewhat ugly.
I am running Ubuntu 10.04, for all that's worth.

Simon-v: Is that the 32-bit version?  Because I am running the 64-bit one and everything seems to be running okay.

It is indeed.
On an unrelated note, viewing the in-game help produces a bunch of `Unknown color key "." in "..."` warnings in the log file. It seems that the @ symbols are unescaped in manual.txt, which leads to them being invisible in the in-game help (this is regardless of game version).

@Simon-v I confirm this. I'll take a look how to fix this.

strange as hell... I tried grabbing a new clean revision of the source and rebuild it and it's the same. This could be something deeper here.

Linux 64-bit edition:

Access inventory with I, press C to access the character sheet, press C to close the character sheet.  Now we can't do anything in the inventory except to press ESC to get out.

Bug?

The tavern sign is not visible when dropped.  I'm not sure if it's the colour, or the choice of the character used (if it is high ASCII, it might not show up at all).

Ah.  I'd like to file a request that an option be placed in the .ini file that allows us to choose if we want to use high ASCII or not.

I remember that even for DoomRL, when I was playing it on Linux, I kept the HighASCII option to false just to make things look correct.

Wait, wha-?  I didn't realise that going down that stairs ended the game!  And I didn't get to hit the Butcher...

No fair!  >.<

That said, since we are still in demo-land (i.e. incomplete DiabloRL), I think it'd be nice to put up a "Continuing down this stairs will end the demo [y/N]?" question on the lowest stairs that will end the game.  Otherwise, it would come as a big shock (as it is to me).

Something made me think of this game today and I'm very excited to see that it is being worked on again.  I would love to help test if you still need more people.  I could easily put in one game a day.

Grab the RC1... it is in a post on this thread.  And test it!  =D

Me almost finished working on catacombs level generator and quests. After adding some more good features me would launch 0.4.6 testing.

Also me missing 0.4.5 rc1 reports. Want moar.
