Before him 146 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 124 of those were killed.
1 of those was killed by something unknown.
2 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
And 15 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.

Some rumours though, say that the Cyberdemon was killed already!

... bitch. I was pretty lucky, sometimes I got spawned in a middle of a bloody vault with Cacos and Barons around and had to think + corner shot (yea, you gotta think sometimes). As you can see I wasn't happy too long with MGk.. all because of Hellgate - I reached it for the first time on U.. and well, as dreadful "burrra ha ha" reached me I knew it's not going to be easy. But I managed to run out of the first room then close door and slowly corner shot monsters, but second Vile dropped me to 16% and no armor so I homing phased out (but it seems homing phase doesn't work on Hellgate, that's unfair! So I got lucky I haven't been teleported to V I guess). On the next level I encountered lava and Caco.

On a second thought, I should've used homing phase... exit was in very interesting place too.. I'm so bad.

As you can see I wasn't happy too long with MGk.. all because of Hellgate - I reached it for the first time on U.. and well, as dreadful "burrra ha ha" reached me I knew it's not going to be easy.

Honestly, as far as pistol builds go, MGK is going to be better for you in Hellgate than a high offense or Cateye is, though only because of HR letting you outrun the Viles in time to escape to the other room. If you want some advice, go for the central area and shoot the door open ahead of time to save valuable seconds: since the Viles are on the left, you are much less likely to be hurt. All in all, however, I prefer high offense over anything else. The reliable knockback is almost too good to pass up.

You passed up Chained Court? A madman, I say! 400 actions' worth of berserk and enough bullets to line your pockets is practically a Marksman's dream. If you couldn't reach it I can understand, but I will only pass up those stairs for impossible odds. (Not to mention the YAAM is still possible by zerking through the lava, I do that often enough for the easy experience.)

If you are seriously attempting YAAM, forget MGK altogether. High offense (adding Fin/SoB/WK and a single EE) or Cateye (SoB/EE, then Fin/WK) will suit your odds much better, as MGK is meant either as a survival strategy on UV+ or a slam dunk on easier difficulties. If reloading concerns you that much, even a single point in Rel drops your dualreload to 1.92 (down from 2.4, pretty huge).

Thanks for advices, I played earlier some high damage builds, it's awesome. As for Chained Court - I kinda don't like it.. I know it's easy and you get berserk. Lol I'm a madman, I just don't like the thing in berserk/invul/envo pack that you can't see colours, so you gotta look on everything to check if it's small or a large healthpack etc. I will have to get used to it lol... I don't know though how it looks on U, those monsters behind the lava are propably Barons?

Extra levels does skip normal dungeon level, so I don't know what experience would be better, on higher difficulties.. putting aside ammo stocking :)

I think you will find that in fact the special levels do not skip a dungeon level. At least in my experience.

Oh.... I don't think so, otherwise you wouldn't take The Wall, Halls of Carnage etc. in AoPc to skip dungeon floor? I'm not sure though..

Sorry to hear about your AoMr loss Kg...  first time at HellGate on UV is a pain, especially if you always run *backwards* to the first room like I did.  (If you run forwards, you don't have to run through the Arch-Viles.)

Yeah, I never really thought about it, but homing phase wouldn't work on Hellsgate since there are no stairs.  good to know, although I either use a phase or blow open the walls if I have the means.

Special levels do not skip a dungeon level but if you're playing AoPc you'll often take the first stairway you get.  This is because most special levels allow you to leave quickly after you've entered them (with a few exceptions i.e. Hell's Arena or Chained Court) or give you some sort of health or defensive benefit after entering (i.e. Chained Court or Halls of Carnage)

Thanks, good to know. I skipped sometimes Chained Court on higher difficulties because I though XP is not worth it.. but since it adds to a next dungeon level, why not :)
