But overall this build has potential - I haven't picked any offensive traits yet it wasn't hard to deal with Arach caves etc.

That is practically the build I have planned for a shotgun/explosives hybrid. The first four are word-for-word and the rest go well in line with what I typically plan out. In the case of AoH, I'm not sure WK is the best option, if only because you're that much less likely to be getting enough mods to make it useful.
Later in the game, however, Iro > TaN in most situations. Unless you're aiming for Badass, 10 HP is often much more useful than 1 DR against enemies that are dealing 11d1s or 5d5s.

Seems to me like you just got unlucky with Cybie's placement. Deathwind is right, of course: phasing out if you're in a bad position is often the best action to take.

Unfortunately, it also looks like you were missing the firepower (and/or ammo) necessary to really gun the big guy down. I mean, you probably had enough, but you also have to take into consideration how many shots you get before he's smacking you. I'd suggest next time to have more cells ready, and definitely keep your health high at all times.

A reference to Friday The 13th for NES (also seen on Angry Video Game Nerd) I presume?

Preparing for both the Cyberdemon and the last levels is a combination hard to stomach.  Remember, in most cases, shotties and the BFG are not good Cybie weapons (the shotties are bad because the SoaB has great accuracy, and putting yourself up close is begging to get knocked back to hell...unless your back is to a wall, but you're still going to take ungodly punishment.  The BFG is poor because the cell/damage ratio is horrid.  Yes, the damage/time ratio is amazing, so by all means blast away if you have a whole TON of cells.)

Any plasma rifle of sorts is number one against Cybie every time.  And true to the FPS-variant, rockets are efficient, and get the point across.

Remember, as you go further into the depths, power-ups and true goodies become more common, so don't be afraid of clearing out the final floor before him, as a convenient invulnerability globe can turn the odds in the opposite direction.

Yea, I think I was just a bit unlucky, considering I blasted him standing close to a wall with shooty and one small healthpack in the later run (But I had A modified plasteel boots).
Refference is of course from Friday 13th.

The DoomRLguy:
Hint: the Cyberdemon is easier than you'd expect. Dodge, fire after he does and start dodging again when "The Cyberdemon reloads his rocket launcher."
