I wanted to go pistols but in one arach cave i dropped pistol and blasted it with missile launcher accidently... I swapped to chaingun (I had EEx2 by that time).
Was going for double silver - 100% kills and win, but I got bad luck which is:

I managed to kill one Vile and was killing second but he took too much HP from me and I died :) Still worthy run, If i went EE->SoB, who knows..

That's...odd. Also a shame. I'm kinda surprised you never found a replacement pistol: it figures that you died in a place where pistols were going to become rather plentiful.

It appears you had the unluck in that game to run into two Vile/other packs crunched together. Those are always a pain, and awfully rare on anything below UV (if you notice, there are practically NO other monsters on that level). Trying to get through them with a chaingun is rough indeed.

Anyway, it looks like it was a great run up until then (sans the pistol incident). I imagine you won't have too much trouble winning this in due time.
