the option EmptyConfirm in config.lua halts you if you try to fire an empty weapon. This way you don't then "aim" at an enemy / into space where you know he is and end up walking there instead.

It should also apply to other situations where you can't fire.  Firing the combat shotgun when it needs a pump is what came to mind, but there might be others (BFG with insufficient cells? I forget what happens then).

I'd die less if this was implemented. I wouldn't complain if it didn't make it in, but it'd be helpful.

Tracked. This item will remain open for discussion about any other things that should be affected by EmptyConfirm.

just got around to checking today, firing the BFG with say 30 cells in it doesn't halt you.  I'd guess the plasma shotgun, railgun, combat translocator, and any other weapons that use multiple ammunition per shot would be the same.

They always fired, rapid fire weapons only fired what it had left and the single shot weapons like the BFG has a weaker blast relative to it's ammo. Don't know about the translocator.
