[0.9.9.2]DoomRL won't start with Windows 7
« on: March 27, 2011, 12:00 »

Hi there,

I just downloaded the newest version and it won't start, it just crashes immediately after starting, I even don't really see the console.

The logfile also doesn't give a hint:

<TSystems/0/0> Initialized.
<TDoom/0/0> Initialized.
<TDoom/0/0> Doom destroyed.
<TDoom/0/0> Closed.

It's the first version of DoomRL I wanted to play on this machine.

Acer Aspire 5741G
Windows 7 Home Premium, German edition

I would really appreciate if anyone has a clue what I could do about it. Tanks!

Zhakdul.

That is rather strange.  Might be some DLL confusion somewhere.

Did you recently update your machine before the reboot and some time before you ran DoomRL?

If it happens again, open cmd.exe, navigate to the doomRL folder, and try running it from in there. It should spit out some sort of error that way.
