For the UV CC, I generally grab one of the 'zerk sources then run out the back. During that berserk I do my best to push as many Barons into lava as I can to ditch their corpses. Before that completely runs out (or after if I can survive), I go grab another one. I start shooting in the dark with a shotgun and when I finally see the Vile I blast it with the rocket launcher. The important part isn't to have a long continuous berserk, it is to be berserked against the B's and V. Sometimes I can clear the level with just using two of them leaving the third for a full heal at the end. It won't leave you berserked for the next level at all, but health is nice.
Personally I would go EEx2, Intx2 first, then grab the needed Fin/Wizkid/SoB. Starting with EEx2 means the chaingun actually hits things and isn't worthless unmodded, but if you can get an early PB mods then definitely slap them on your chaingun in that order. 1d9x4 with EEx2 using 10mm is nothing to scoff at, since bullets are cheap in the beginning. It will take down Barons in under a clip if memory serves me correctly, although that could be with a level of SoB or two.
I wouldn't recommend SoG if you are going for the assault rifle, since it's not a pistol and doesn't get the benefit. I'd go with SoB since it works on every weapon and with EEx2 your plasma/chaingun are going to be accurate making each point of SoB worth at least 2-3 damage extra damage. It may not sound like much, but something about how armor reduces damage and makes it worth it. Game Hunter probably has a much better idea, I haven't paid too much attention to how damage is actually calculated.
My last single pistol build was actually EE->EE->Int->Int->SoB->SoB->Fin->Fin->WK->Jug->SoG->Fin->WK->SoG->SoG->SoG->SoG->HR->HR->HR->SoB->SoB->SoB->DM. Notice that it took me a while to start getting SoG, but once I could I grabbed them all. I find that pistols are awesome when you have a great number of traits to back them up, but they are harder to start with. Granted that was an Ao100 game but still UV. For a 25 UV run I wouldn't bother with a single pistol since there isn't enough xp to get the traits to really make it worth it.
