Before him 204 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 166 of those were killed.

26 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
And 7 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.

Some rumours though, say that the Cyberdemon was killed already!
Is he immortal? 5 souls claim to have killed him...
3 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.
2 killed the bastard and survived.

The one thing about A100 is that I just can't find the time and stamina to sit there and play non-stop for all 100 levels -- this results in the 5 save points here, roughly once every 20-ish levels or when the fatigue sets in.  I wanted to build more armour-type assemblies, but that power armour I built precluded anything, though having a regenerating suit of 8-armour is awesome.  Couple this with the hyperblaster, I'm mostly unkillable.

Early game was more shotgun based, as you can tell by the SM hidden among my trait selection.  That tactical shotgun helped me clear the way up until I got my MAC.  The micro launcher is useful as a breeching device, creating the much needed holes that are necessary some times to get through the terrain.  I actually had an early laser rifle just about the time I got my MAC, but as you can see, I eventually traded up to the hyperblaster.

Of all the assemblies used so far, those that stayed with me to the end were (surprise surprise) the micro launcher, tactical boots and power armour.

All in all, a very fun-filled game, much different from the old A100 that we once knew.  And it is for the reason of these new stuff that happens in levels that make it such that I cannot play it non-stop for 5 hours to complete it.

5 hours is still a pretty good time. The only time I ever got that low was a MBm game and that was only possible because I found a chainsaw on level 30. It generally takes me 8-12 hours of playing to finish one.

    3 Cyberdemons
I'd call that pretty lucky. It seems that UV generally spawns 1-4 and only killing one over 100 levels seems rather inefficient. I use Ao100 for looking for uniques, but the extra progress towards the Cyberdemon rank makes me feel better when I don't find Dragonslayer (the last one I need).

On level 51 he found the Acid Spitter!
Have you figured out any decent way of reliably gaining advantage with this weapon? 10d10 is pretty respectable, but it's single shot and reloads with 'health'. Honestly I've fired it all of once and don't really remember the experience, but it feels like this weapon isn't any good unless you have the gothic boots or phaseshift set. Granted if you had one of those options it would be decent for corpse clean up/ barrier creation but hoping for a unique and an exotic for marginal benefit doesn't seem like a solid strategy.

I noticed you didn't mod any of your assemblies, but you did have WKx2. Was that out of laziness or is modding assemblies a bug? I thought I read somewhere that modding assemblies was determined to be a hidden feature instead of a bug, but I'd trust your knowledge of this over mine. My last Ao100 run I modded everything as much as possible (firestorm hyperblaster, etc...), but only because I thought it wasn't cheating.

So I didn't really fire the Acid Spitter at all -- it is my first A100 run after all and I don't want a case of "ohshitIscreweditup" happening to me.  I will try it out the next time I see it though.  Same thing for the various *wave packs.  I did use Hell Staff extensively though, considering that I was lugging around so many medpacks.

As for the WKx2 vs non-modded out Hyperblaster, it suffices to know that I got WKx2 pretty late (see Fin->SoB->SoB), by which I already have assembled the Hyperblaster.  Modding assemblies is somewhat a bug and only occurs under one particular circumstance -- see previous sentence for some hints why this is so.

I did that when I found the BFG 10k on level 100... definitely murdered myself there.

I find the I get a lot of mods during an Ao100 game, so as long as I can wait for 10-15 levels I should be able to find any basic mod needed, but I don't know if that is true over all the difficulties. I've been able to consistently mod assemblies so I think I know how it works, I was just curious if it was intentional. Turns out I should have just spent a minute or two searching because i found Game Hunter saying it was. http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php/topic,4324.msg35587.html#msg35587. So I assume it's not cheating. Either way I've never even fired a F-modded hyperblaster, despite making a few.

I often find that my will to napalm everything to death overcomes my will to find mods.
