Before him 32 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 27 of those were killed.
1 of those was killed by something unknown.
And 4 couldn't handle the stress and commited a stupid suicide.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Yay, my first victory! It was atually a pretty uneventful ride, save for maybe an exceptionally good clearing of the wall, losing but 1 hp. Also, I incidentally got a 100% kill rate too, I'm just pretty picky about clearing all the levels. However, I didn't really kill all of them, since I skipped stairs to the Spider's Lair on level 18. (had little power packs left and this sounds scary. I wanted to finally complete this, and leave exploring special levels for later.) Was a bit disappointed by the Cyberdemon. All he took were 3 BFG shots, 2 plasma rifle clips and 1 large medpack. Then again, I did kill him with my last plasma shots, save for those left in the BFG, and I did get a supercharge next to the down-stairs on level 19.

Now onto the next version with difficulties and Deimos! :) And maybe the Spider's Lair.

Well, the supercharge did save my life, but then again I got a bit overconfident because of it and rushed in quite carelesly, so I think I could have done without it, but it certainly was nice. :)

The Wall's not that hard.  I do it just with the rocket launcher, opening a hole near the bottom, and then scouting out with cateye 2, and shooting any demons that come near When they start swarming, it's important to shoot the rocket to a place that will cause the rocket to explode so that the knockback sents them all away from you. Admittedly I did have a full red armor and Tough as nails 2, but I did lose only 2% (1 hp) health, and that was from my own rocket.

Wow, you didn't even lose that health from an enemy, just your rocket, amazing!

Yeah once I found the trick to the wall (cateye, aggressive when shooting, switch to coward, retreat, reload, go back, switch back to agg, shoot...), it just became free xp/ammo level.

(cateye is overpowered!)

Cool trick, James!!!

I don't want to seem offensive, but you are obviously posting to say nothing, only to make your post count higher.

thats why I was against rank, because you are ranked higher for posting "cool" everytime. Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against you, but more against the rank you possess.

Some of your post say more and are worth posting, some aren't. In no way I am going to put rules here, but please find something usefull. When we get back, reading the new post, im generaly waiting that quite long load time to read something, to learn something, even if its off topic (like this post is), so you should at least try that, instead of posting 3 words per topic, everytime someone answered...

On topic, I don't "exploit" cateye, I guess its why I never finished the game. It would be more satisfying completing the game without this overpowered technique than with it...

Yeah, I generally put this to level 1 or leave it alone, this make the game much more challenging. The cyberdemon certainly hits you a lot more and I am yet to beat him at CatEye level 0.  Cateye is expected to have less of an effect in future so start practising with out it.  (of course I posted a YAVP with using cateye so call me a hypocrite )

well, as I mentioned somewhere before that I played over 80 games, I try all sorts of combinations and play around alot, it just happens coincidentally that all my wins are ones where I maxed cateye.

(I got pretty close with max hellrunner/finesse and some SOB, but without range arachnotrons eat me alive)

Ooh, another trick, when reloading or eating helthpacks in middle of combat (which you should try to avoid but it'll eventually happen), switch to coward.  I've seen arachs do a full unload of plasma and miss all on me before.
