Almost an experience cross too! You are a crazy person, getting your first wins of a challenge on N!.
Heh, well, ever since I discovered that I'm capable of getting Diamond badges, I figure I should aim high. :)
I'm surprised you didn't go for the Armory win (or did you win, he reanimates, you grab prizes and go). Even with N! foolishness, the chance at an Onyx/Nano is irresistible to me. It's also a pity there's no kill-counter in game yet.
Well, like I said, I was playing it safe. I didn't even know you could get Nano or Onyx mods in the Armory! (If I'd known that, I might have stuck around) As it was, I didn't have a rocket launcher, so there was no easy way to dispose of the bodies. After I killed the Shambler, I just got out of there; I didn't want to have him revive and force me to face him again.
Any quick tips for AoD?
Use the terrain to your advantage, when you can, hiding behind cover so that the monsters don't see you first, or at the very least, you and the monsters see each other at the same time. Periodically fire your shotgun into the darkness; the spread makes it likely that it will hit anybody out there and the sound of monsters getting hurt will alert you to their presence before they see you. It's helpful to lure enemies into a position where you can use the terrain against them. With the new AI, they won't always chase you unless you piss them off by shooting them. :) Again, the shotgun is useful for this tactic: Fire blindly into the darkness with the shotgun to get their attention and then run around the nearest corner or doorway so they don't see you when they go to chase you.
Of course, none of this is really specific to AoD; I'll use these tactics in any game, really, but AoD makes them especially important. And of course, with this build, once I got Vampyre trait, all strategy went out the window except for charging blindly into the fray to keep the berserk going as long as possible. :D
