2DeviationsOut

First of all, I didn't actually get the Longinus Diamond again, since I already had it, but I fulfilled the prerequisites for it.

So, this was an interesting run. The RNG seemed to really like me this game, as I was constantly finding zerks/invulns/red armors. I actually did this on my first try.

1270 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 1150 of those were killed.
6 of those were killed by something unknown.
13 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
And 60 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.

 42 souls destroyed the Mastermind...
2 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.
21 killed the bitch and survived.
19 showed that it can outsmart hell itself.

When I finished my Strongman Diamond run, I decided to go for the hardest badge that I hadn't obtained yet. So, Masochist Diamond it was. And, to up the insanity, I decided to do the Cathedral without Brute, and do the Mortuary.

The things that really made this run were the massive offensive power granted by Ammochain, and a sniper mod to put on my Plasma Rifle. I played this game just like I play nearly all of my other N! runs, in that I avoid as much damage as possible and rely on killing enemies before they can shoot at me.

I'll cover each of the special levels, and the strategy that I employed to beat each one of them.

Arena: I chaingunned enemies from around the corners, and dodged back and forth to get the cacos to destroy corpses when I couldn't corpse-stack.

Court: I swept up and to the right to grab the agility mod, and chain-fire killed the Barons from around the corners. Then, moving to the left, I used my rocket launcher to bounce the Arena Master out of range, and thus gibbed the formers around it.

Wall: I hit the bottom of the wall with rockets to open up a path, and then, since I had Ammochain by this point, I used my plasma rifle to kill the barons one-by-one as they went near the bottom of the wall, and then a rocket to gib the corpse. This level is a lot easier now on .9.9.5, since they don't all pile next to the wall.

Hellgate: I phased into the middle of the level, and then slaughtered the nightmare enemies in the first stage while they were on top of the door, so their corpses wouldn't drop. The Bruiser Brothers were a piece of cake, I ducked below the spike left when the wall disappeared, and gunned them down as they came around the top of the spike.

Armory: I followed my standard pattern on this level, in that I swept to the right with my plasma rifle, grabbed the useful loot, and then activated the Shambler and moved back to the left, killing enemies and gibbing their corpses with my missile launcher.

Halls of Carnage: By this time I had a P2S1 Plasma rifle from the Armory, and so the Sergeants died without being able to react. Since I knew roughly where the enemies would be on this level, and I wasn't afraid of wasting a couple of clips, I was able to radar-shoot and kill the enemies on this level with no difficulty.

City of Skulls: Again my standard pattern for Ammochain, phase away from the middle and chain-fire to kill the Lost Souls, targeting the Pain Elementals first, and using a BFG shot if I needed to.

Spider's Lair: This is where it started to get difficult. I came into the level invulnerable, so I was able to kill most of the initial enemies easily, and then teleport to the left side. By now I could reliably knockback enemies with my plasma rifle, since I had quite a few levels of SoB. I knocked the Arachnotrons into the walls, and then gibbed their corpses with my missile launcher. By now I could kill the arachnotrons with one burst from my plasma rifle, so I didn't have much of a problem.

Unholy Cathedral: I admit that I didn't need to do this level, and I probably shouldn't have. However, I did have a really good kit of items to kill the AoD with. I had a B-Mod Double Chainsaw, a hatred skull, and a P-Mod Ballistic Ballistic vest. I steamrolled over the Lost Souls, and danced around the demons while killing them so I would be able to gib as many corpses with my Hatred Skull as possible. I killed the AoD quite quickly, even without Brute.

The Vaults: I opened the Vaults while I was on the left side of the map, so that I could kill the Arch-Viles faster. They never even got off a single shot at me, since I could kill them in two bursts, and I had a P2S1T2 Plasma Rifle, 3x Fin, and 5x SoB. The revenants were actually easier, since I could sometimes kill them in one burst. I didn't get anything spectacular on this level. The trick here was to only engage one or maybe two enemies at a time, and corner-shoot whenever possible.

The Mortuary: There's no justification for trying this in a Masochism Diamond run except for sheer insanity. By now I had Malek's Armor, and I was feeling a bit more confident, since I had two B3 BFGs, and a pair of Hatred Skulls. First, I moved to the right side and used a Hatred Skull, and then phased, which put me in the middle-left portion of the level. There I used another Hatred skull. Then, I used a homing phase and phased to the lower left corner, and then moved up to the upper right, and grabbed the power mod. I didn't take the Assault Shotgun since I wasn't using shotguns, and I had the Jackhammer anyway. Then, I moved to the bottom-right corner, firing my BFGs as I went to clear out the enemies ahead of me. I used a lot of plasma cells, but I wasn't worried about running out, since I had a nuke plasma rifle to fall back on. After making it to the bottom right corner, and being amazed that the bulk mod was still there, I moved up to the upper-right and grabbed the Nuke BFG. After that, all I had left was cleanup, which consisted of knocking enemies into the walls as I killed them with my plasma rifle, and then gibbing their corpses with my Missile Launcher. I had plenty of rockets, since I was killing Mancubi and Revenants.

The Lava Pits: Perhaps the easiest special level of this run, I went in with A-Mod Plasteel Enviroboots for my boots, and I had two enviropacks. I killed the revenants with my plasma rifle, and I knocked their corpses into the lava. The Lava Elemental died without even being able to fire, since it spawned near me, and I had been chainfiring to kill some Lost Souls and a Pain Elemental.

Dis: Pretty much what I do every game. I dropped a nuke, and waited until 2 on the counter, and then used my Lava Element. After nuking the Mastermind, I ran to the upper left corner of the map, since I had entered on the left side, and went down to JC. I leveled recently, so th

JC: This was the hardest JC fight I've ever had. Apparently he says "Don't think you can surprise me" when you sniper-fire from across the level, and then he spawned enemies and teleported. It still wasn't a hard fight though, since I alternated between firing my Plasma Rifle at him, and BFGing him and his summons.
