Hackmaster 4e IC - Quest for the Unknown

<< < (13/28) > >>

Malek Deneith:
Maoun once again sends a sheet of flame at the Ogre, signing some of Sho Lee's hair in the process. The monk on the other hand performs his kata better this time (even if he gets hit by an axe in the process) and his blow visibly shatters or dislocates something in the creature's hip, stunning it in the process... though not enough for Sam's clumsy stab to hit.

Spoiler: Segment by Segment (click to show/hide)1:
- Samuel Greenwood starts putting his crossbow away
- Michael Songsteel is still lying in pain and confusion
- Jace is still cowering
- Maoun burninates the Ogre for 10 fiery damage (save failed)… again

Jace is cowering (-3/-15% to all rolls and can't take any actions), Michael is incapacitated (can't take no actions), Confused (as per spell but obviously can't take any actions yet), and a bout a feet behind the Ogre.

Matt_S:
Sam once again takes a stab at the ogre, hoping for something better.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)Initiative roll: -3
Attack roll: 13, hopefully that'll hit.
Damage roll: 1, damn :(

shark20061:
Sho decides to give another hand to the ogre, after that wonderfully successful strike.  However... things don't go as planned this time...

(1d10-2=1, 1d20+2=3, 1d4+3=5) FUMBLE!!! (again...)

S.K. Ren:
Maoun unleashes another gout of flame at the Ogre, once again doing his best to avoid hitting his companions.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)So I gave up on asking Malek about applying first aid in the middle of battle since he's out. And since Chessa choose "to burninate"...
At this point I assume our positions look like this:

--- Code: ("Sideview") ---m    O
  sS O
  sSMO  J

--- End code ---

"Spell!"
Burning Hands: Instantaneous/ 1 Segment
5' long, 120 degree arc.
1d3 +2/caster level(1+1 specialist) +1(Great Honor); 1d3+5=6
Total 6 fire damage, Ogre can Save vs Spell-2 for 1/2 damage.

Well that uses 3 of my burning hands... you guys better pull it together. We have a long day ahead of us.

Malek Deneith:
The only thing Sam managed to achieve is to distract Sho Lee, causing the later to overextend and walk right into another of Ogre's attacks. Even Maoun's spell wasn't as effective this time - it seems the creature got wise to the annoying little gnat flying around and despite the wounds managed to avoid most of the flame.

Spoiler: Segment by Segment (click to show/hide)1:
- Samuel Greenwood fails Stabbing 101 again
- Sho Lee Wu gets distracted (-4 to hit and no dex to AC for 1 round)
- Maoun burns the Ogre for 3 (save made) nonkilling damage
- Jace and Michael still are of no use
