So, I thought I'd try a Scout game this time and was lucky enough to find a Combat Shotgun on the first level!  It made the early game a lot easier than usual.  :)  Unfortunately, it didn't hold up during late game as well as it did in my Medic game, and I ran out of medpacks.  Doubly unfortunately, I completely forgot that I had two Military Medpacks in my inventory!  I might have been able to pull this off, otherwise.  :|

My goal was to get Sidearm Master skill to make the most of the Scout's strength, but even with the Compact Pistol, it really didn't help me in the late game and was kind of a waste of skill points.  I think I would've been much better served putting the points into medical skill.  (Oh well...)

On the plus side, I found an RPG launcher, my first Heavy weapon besides the HK MG4!  :)

Yep. Putting some points into Medicine skill helps here and there. The same applies to the other skills as well - even basic Perception is worth taking now :) .

I think that playing scout as sidearms master is unwinable. Sidearms totally sucks above level 5. Heavy + grenades + pulse rifle. Of course colt .44 really good and praetorians die in 3-4 shots but too rare to find.

Btw, why you do not use grenades??? One grenade can save your life in such situation. RPG - grenade - switch to primary/sidearm and finish them off. Grenade not only damage enemies but also if at close range knokback you away and selfdamage much less then from pack of stalkers.

(some minutes later) understand. You have a withdrawal effect past stimpack, and only one stalker kill you before you can do anything?

It is a bit opposite to the previous versions, where Scout meant easy mode :] .
