1899 - The Hidden Hands of the Aether

<< < (24/38) > >>

LuckyDee:
Josie, upon spotting the rat turns around swiftly enough to see Jonathan stepping - almost jumping - back as if in fright, all the colour having drained from his face. For a moment it seems like he's going to bolt...

Esther:
Josie does not want Alberts deal to fall through and feels embarressed by the rat being in the room. She gestures Hugo to wait and then quickly enters the room, closing the door behind her. Looking at the creature she wonders if it's the same rat. Has it come back and what does Mr. clock know about it. She scans the room for something to hit it with.

LuckyDee:
Please roll Intelligence+Animal Ken-2

The moment you seal yourself inside with the little bugger, it jumps off the bed on the opposite end. No weapon to be found; you know there are bedpans in every room, but since they're made of enamel, they're not the most reliable of weapons.

Esther:
Since the enamel bedpan has a centre of cast iron, all that can go wrong is the glass coating coming of when hitting something hard with it. Hitting a rat with it will be just fine, aslong as you don't hit the floor as well. But Josie does not want to ruin bedpans. She is determent to locate the rat first and find out how it got in the room. She carefully walks over to the other side of the bed. Looking around for spots where the rat may have crawled behind or underneath something. She has no problem stepping on the thing, or catching it with her bare hands if it comes to it. She has killed and eaten rats before. But somehow she feels that this is not quite your average rat. She grabs the keychain in her hand a little tighter. Maybe she should lock the door behind her so if this thing turns out nasty she can defend herself without people finding out what she is.

LuckyDee:
Looking at the other side of the bed, you see it could have hidden below the nighstand or between the wall and it, or underneath the bed. Either way you're not going to be able to corner it in its current position. From your current vantage point, no obvious rat-sized entries are to be seen.
