Klear:
"Come out, you little bastard," Hugo curses as he swiftly follows it back to the door.

LuckyDee:
Unfortunately, in Hugo's case 'swiftly' has nothing to do with 'lightly', and the sound of stomping feet rapidly closing in drives the critter out of hiding - and into the kitchen. Now you see why Barbara nearly threw a fit: another black rat, possibly even bigger than the one you saw outside.

In the kitchen, Ron manages to nearly stifle a very girly squeal, but swiftly recovers: "Oh no ye don't!", he informs the intruder, and without taking his eyes off the rat, he grabs the first weapon he can lay his hands on off of the table standing in the kitchen's center. That this is in fact a whisk totally fails to register.

Klear:
"Catch it! Hugo yells at Ron and nevertheless rushes to do it himself. "Don't let it get out!"

LuckyDee:
At that point Mellie, having been informed by Barbara, swiftly steps in from the common room. "Oh my!", she mutters upon seeing the little bugger, and then, in the authorative tone you are used to: "Right, easy boys. Josie, close the pantry door. Hugo, go see if there's anyone watching out back, and open the door if the coast is clear. Ron, don't let that bastard pass. And put down the whisk, you look like a prat."

Esther:
Josie quickly closes the door. The moment Babs mentioned the rat, Josie went to get a couple of brooms. She now has hoisted up her skirts a bit and hands Mrs. Feather one. She is ready to strike as soon as the pest comes her way.
