Well, after my AoMr win, I decided to try again for an AoMs win. With all the stuff I learned playing AoMr, it only took me 4 tries. I might have won the first, but I got greedy on level 24 and tried to clear it for the 100% win and ended up being trapped by some B's, A's, and a V.

I had a lot of trouble with this game. I had continual ammo problems (constantly running out of rockets and 10mm). I picked up the two double shotguns late in the game because I was desperate for anything that I could shoot with. Although if I had found the Rapid Double Shotgun early enough, I might have tried a shottyman route...

There were many times I was below 20% health. For one whole level I was actually down to 1% with only about 40% experience. That is where I used up most of my rockets trying to clear things. I thought I was dead for sure, but I fortunately found an Inv globe early on the next level which restored my health. Those Inv globes saved me about 3 or 4 times in this game.

I found 4 Phase Devices during the game. My end-game strategy was to rocket the CD until he was close, phase away, rocket till he was close, etc. I had to use up two of the four to survive an Arach nest and I had used almost all of my rockets when I was low on health, so the CD battle ended up being pretty close.

I had hoped to gain my last level and then make a dash for the CD. I made 9th near the end of level 22. I went down to 23 and ended up surrounded by an A, Baron, V, and a commando. I survived that, but had to pretty much clear the rest of the level before I found the stairs so I had lost all my bonus health and was down to 100%. That is only 3 or 4 rocket hits from CD. :(

I went down to 24 and it was one of those city layouts with all the buildings. As soon as I left my building I saw the stairs and went down - I didn't want to risk losing any more health.

CD started pretty close to me, so I only got in a few rocket hits before he had me down to 33% with two hits on me. I used my first phase device but it only took me about 10 or 15 squares away. I rocketed a couple more times and then used my last phase device. That one took me to the other side of the map.

I kept firing my Plasma Rifle until I could tell that I was hitting the CD, then I emptied the rest of my rockets (only 3 more as you can see from my messages). The explosions were visible on the screen so I knew that he was close. Then I finished him off with the plasma rifle. I was really lucky that he didn't get any more shots in.

I guess that I should have used my BFG on him, but I always forget about the BFG. :/

Grats! I suppose that if you try several times, you will win Nightmare!, and one more General will be(don't waste time on N! with AoH, it is useless). I don't think that Kornel will release DooMRL version 0990 soon, so you have a lot of time and a lot of tries. After that you can begin performing some tricks that i done(win without weapons, killess win, or anything else)).

By the way, i always thought that we(DooMRLers) are strange people. We are proud that we are Masochists!))
