For next Platinum (not counting Longinus Platinum via Sereging), I would suggest a UV AoMr 100% with a Sharpshooter build. Sharpshooters may have a tough start, but once they get rolling ...

I really like the idea of Sharpshooters... You're not wrong about the start though, I don't think I've ever even *got* Sharpshooter. Having said that I haven't really played with pistol builds too much. I'm assuming the best way is get Son of a Gun x3 first, then Eagle Eye x3?

This exact approach worked very well for me (up to a UV AoMr 100% full win, no less). With the starting T-mod, that's 0.32s firing speed achieved during (and, with some luck, _before_) the Arena on UV. Also be prepared for _lots_ of camping instead of active exploring if you want to play the early game safe. Computer/Tracking maps help, but they are not that common.
Thiebs:
In my opinion, not always. You want to keep your distance with that build, so the accuracy is pretty big. I'd say that the first two SoG are pretty much a given, but by the third, take your loadout into consideration. If you have a sufficiently powerful pistol, the extra accuracy would go further. But if you're still stuck with the standard fair, I'd personally go for the third SoG and use aimed shots at extreme ranges.
Tormuse:
First off, congrats on an awesome run! :D For your next platinum (or Diamond?) Might I recommend Shottyman, since you seemed to like the spread of that Super Shotgun. :) It would mean moving up to Nightmare!, but with all the extra shells from reviving sergeants, you can afford to do a lot more radar-shooting. I suggest an Army of the Dead build, since armour-piercing shotguns are devastating, especially with a few levels of SOB.
As for the Sharpshooter build, like Thiebs, I tend to favour getting EE before SoG 3. I know some people will disagree, but I find that I miss just a little too often otherwise.
Regarding nukes, make sure you are invulnerable when it goes off, otherwise you'll die! I wouldn't want you to find out the hard way. ;)
EDIT: Also, I agree with your sentiment about the Shambler cave. I've encountered them on two occasions, and both times, I was lucky to be invulnerable, because all those lightning bolts flying around look like they would be big trouble. :o

Hmmm.... Nightmare is scary. I'm not sure I'll be playing that seriously anytime soon (or ever! :D), I like demons I shoot to stay dead. I think shotguns maybe my preferred weapon of choice - barring super dooper guns - but I've got mixed feelings about MAD because you can't have Whizkid. That didn't bother me at first but now I've sampled the delights of advanced and master assemblies I don't like to go without :)... Having said that going back to basics will be a good thing probably.
Currently having a reasonable bash with a Sharpshooter... nearly actually have the trait. Not sure exactly how I'm going to do the anomaly - probably will die in a fire.
