Levers and the map
« on: March 02, 2007, 15:31 »

Why aren't levers shown on the map (sans pickup of Computer Map) after you're done exploring?  They seem a lot like barrels and level exits to me, and it's a bit of a pain to go searching for them after finishing the level...  I can understand not tracking ammo and such since enemies pick that stuff up, but they can't use the levers, and the only other thing that might be a concern is that people will use them for bait, and people can already do that anyway even without them showing up after you walk away...

Well, it's because internally DoomRL levers are... items xD

It's sad you can't take the levers with you and place them as a lure much like the ammo... :-P ;-)

I would LOVE to take a "make floor lava" lever with me.  It'd be like having a less problematic nuke on hand, and couple that with a "make floor water" lever and life is goooooood. ;P

If you could pick up and carry around a Make Floor Water lever, it would be quite easy to finish a Nightmare game since enemies killed on terrain (water, acid, lava, doors, etc) do not leave corpses.

err, without the slot and mechanism it was connected to, taking the lever with you wouldn't make any sense really :-p maybe you could club a demon withit?

Hey, who are you to question the workings of the Levers of Hell?!

* TFoN clobbers Silencexy with a monster-summoning lever.

AHA, is this the way how you treat sane people who got an ounce of logic left in their brains?! Looks like you, but I can tell you my dear friend, you can bash on as much as you want, it won't change anything ab... *passes out*
