The Matter of Splatter
TFoN:
Ever blistered badly, or just fried something? Sizzling goes for lava, too :)
Screems are for off-screen kills. I think those should stay as they are, keeping LOS your source of accurate information.
What I'm talking about is "the former human's riddled with bullets", though on a much more graphic level.
I'll start writing down my ideas off-forum, and put them here when I'll have a serious bunch. Expect them within the next 4-5 days.
BTW, if any of you have a Fallout installed with an advanced game in progress, or otherwise have access to the descriptions, if I recall correctly there're some really good lines to draw from. Unreal Tournament goes too, but that I have quick access to and can take care of.

Screams for God's Sake!!! ;) .
I get your point. Do you mind a brainstorm?
"Imp falls under pressure of your 12 gauge shotgun"
"Imps torso is nailed with 10mm bullets"
"Imp is blasted by the rocket, with size of his head"
"Imps body falls about, filled with lead"
"Power Cell leaves imps bloody corpse on the floor"
"You tear imp apart with your bare hands"
"You cut imp to pieces with your chainsaw"
"You take your knife from imps dead body"
"Imp couldn't resist holy power of Longinus Spear"
;)
Anyways I think it would take too much place, though the idea sounds Ok

Yeah, sorry, that's a miss-correction of myself.

Do I mind...? That's the whole point, man.
And that's a hint for all you idle readers :)
Also, and possibly more so, post your opinions on the lines people write here. The smallest changes to them can make or break the feeling they give.

Each off-LOS death gives a line about that length. I don't think there's any harm in having on-LOS deaths resulting in short sentences, too.

Yeah, yeah, quiet Kiddo, it was said with a smile on my lips :) . Btw you didn't comment my brainstorm ideas :(. I feel so alone and empty...

Still a relatively short length line, comparing to what you suppose. Not that I don't like the idea of having neat descriptions of monsters death. Bloody Hell, here I come!!!
TFoN:
To be quite frank, I intentionally didn't comment on your brainstorming (and won't for a while), as I want others to sense and react to the need of opinion. I think there is much more to be found in a combination of several to many opinions, than in the opinions of two or three of us. Plus, I honestly and deeply love the creative process, and can't appreciate it the same way when it is influenced by my hands :)
That said, I just spent the last few hours mesmerized by wikipedia articles on daemonology, especially when they drift away into D&D world stories. The Blood War's fascinating, and reading that the Illithid empire brought it to a hault, as the Lords of Hell and demon princes contemplated a joint effort against them, literally had me laugh in admiration for a second, then I stopped suddenly, in awe, as the meaning and implications struk me.
