So I finally got another Ao100 run again. Malicious Blades are really, really indestructible if you can make a good armor. I knew this run was gonna be magical when I found my Onyx mod and Phaseshift armor, I just had to survive till I could get the Mastery Trait followed by two ranks of Whizkid. I was also surprised to find out that 2 bulk modded combat knives I took from floor one were pretty effective at killing things with just 2-3 ranks of brute. If I never found the spare power mods to make the Chainswords + P I feel that I could still have killed things easily before I was in any danger of dying, 95 fire resistance and 70 acid means that the only real damage spikes I had to worry about were nightmare arachnotrons. The only three things I needed to turn this run into a dream run were the Dragonslayer, Butchers Cleaver, and Phaseshift boots. I even had the mods needed to make Antigrav + A just to fly across the screen, but no luck finding them. Oh well, maybe one run I can complete the dream.

Cerberus suit *and* boots?  That must've slowed you down a fair bit!  :o  Of course, HR 3 will take the edge off that, not to mention all those resistances allowing you to tank everything.  :)

The only three things I needed to turn this run into a dream run were the Dragonslayer, Butchers Cleaver, and Phaseshift boots. I even had the mods needed to make Antigrav + A just to fly across the screen, but no luck finding them. Oh well, maybe one run I can complete the dream.

Well, there's always ArchAo666.  It's so painfully long, you're pretty much guaranteed to get at least one of everything!  :)

Well, there's always ArchAo666.  It's so painfully long, you're pretty much guaranteed to get at least one of everything!  :)

I find that when you have the kind of defenses that MMB and a good Cerberus Armor provide you really don't need speed for about anything. Sure I get knocked about like a pinball on crack against all the explosive enemies, but them doing 1 percent damage pretty much means that unless I just glaze over and ignore everything I wont ever die once it gets going.

Even nightmare arachnotrons wont kill me so long as I remember to heal when I get low, they just don't do the kind of damage needed to kill me before I have a chance to heal and the depths that they start appearing mean that full health kits become more and more common. I fear that if I don't have some kinda lava proof boots that I would keep getting bounced into pools of lava that I would take more damage from. I would routinely fight rooms full of Archviles, mancubi and swarms of barons of hell, and at most they do about 30-50 percent damage, thats after killing all of them and not healing till I hit red health, then I can usually find some kinda spare health item that was not destroyed and rinse and repeat.

I would have taken an Anti Grav Phaseshift boots to compensate, but I always go cerberus unless I find either the Inquisitor set or the good Phaseshift set. I probably would start Ao666 just to try to fulfill that dream.
