Hi

I just started playing the other day and didnt stop and till i finished the game, just wanted to thank you for such a great game

well that and giving me a advanced double shotgun and 3 damadge mods plus a speed mod. that sure made Mortuary very easy :)

dont think i could have one the game without it, cant wait to see what comes next

Not 6d6 but 9d3 rather.... it's the greater of the two numbers that gets increased.

Uhh, what?  You're telling me, for serious, that advanced shotguns given damage mods increase the number of dice rather than the number of sides on the dice?  I'm pretty sure damage mods work the opposite way even on shotguns.  Besides, if it really increased the greater of the two numbers then either it'd have to be set in stone that the number of sides gets increased if both numbers are the same, or half the time you'd be able to get a 5d4 rocket launcher and (if lucky with further damage mods) end up with a 7d4 rocket launcher.  Plus, I'm pretty damn sure I've used a damage mod on an advanced shotgun and not gotten, as you claim I should have gotten, a 7d3 shotgun but a 6d4 shotgun.

EDIT: Huh, it does make it 7d3.  Why the heck do I remember a 6d4 shotgun then?

Maby it was made so in this version? Dunno. All I know is that I noticed that it became 7d3 rather than 6d4 on recent playthrough, and after asking Kornel he siad that it is intentional, and that the greater number gets increased >>

thanks for that

i must say it made Mortuary alot easier to clear out, until i ran out of shells and had hell barons blowing up the ammo, finally found one clip and cleaned them up

Oh my. Your second game too. I think I just suck at roguelikes in general... I have 51 deaths on the current version and not a single win. Granted a LOT of those were AoBs, trying to get demons in melee, but they had a nasty tendency to get mangled by Sergeants.

I won once, long long ago. Like a year ago or so...

Well, if you play AoMr and get your pistol/char pimped enough, theoretically you could trigger a lever that spawns three AVs and kill them all before they 'wake up' and start sending flame pillars your way.  Such things make for a great rush, at least! :D

umm coincidentally... i did that. i sat there and pulled the lever and three viles were quite litterally right next to me as in melee range.... and i ripped em up with my adv pistol (D1R1S3) dualing normal..... btw it sucks that if u find a 2nd adv pistol its impossible to put mods on it....... grrrr.... oh yeah i think the final AV 1 shot before i killed him..... punched me..... (sound of crickets chirping)...... oh hey get this Blitz, triggerhappy rocks..... heh... start a game on higher dif lvl, get SoB, kill everyone on lvl 2, make sure u get a chaingun from a capitan (hint, use aggressive pistol on him), then lvl up, (by time u clear lvl 2 u should have at least one lvl), lvl 2 trait is SoB, then level up 1 more time, get trigger..... now u have a chaingun that fires 2 extra shots in the same time as a normal, and each shot does normal +2 damage.... all on lvl 3.... now go smack the arena..... hehe im on NTR (UV wiped the floor with me on lvl 3, a maze level with some cacos and HK's...) and i got a chaingun AND rocket launcer on lvl 2....

that sounds like somthnig to try out, actually i tried to give aliensrl a go but it just seg faulted on me however diablorl seems like fun so i might see how that goes for a bit

i found the replay value isnt there, it would be nice if the higher difficulty levels unlocked some new stuff.

just another randow thought, i recentlly got my hands on a nintendo DS and it would be intresting to see this ported to it. i am sure the display code would need to be modified but it would definattly be a very fun game on the DS

Yay, there's someone else who thinks like me. Have you tried Nethack DS, DSCrawl (site seems to be down, but you can find it with google. No DLDI suport unfortunately.) or POWDER?

I've only played Nethack DS and quickly tried POWDER, but NetHack is fun on DS. Well, except naming stuff, which is a bit slower than normal using the virtual keyboard on the touchscreen. Simpler Roguelikes of course fit more easily on DS, but the touchscreen gives a great amount of options to implementing thing.
