Bug Reports / [0.9.9.7] (m)ore works out of view

Remember the bug that you could use (l)ook with (m)ore to see enemies out of vision? That was fixed for (l)ook, but still works with (f)ire, so you can search anywhere you can aim, even out of view and through solid walls by (f)ire -> (m)ore. (the (m)ore will still show an enemy's details when you can't see them if you aim there using (f)ire, in other words.)

Thinking of other turn-based games, i came up with something along the lines of chess. Only a maybe more like a turn-based RTS. Two armies of hellspawn pitted against each other, only 1 monster moving per side per turn (like chess) but with some means of gaining or upgrading monsters. (Just a thought to throw out there.)

I do agree that some kind of indication on how much charge is left. considering that game is turnbased, with completely various amount of things able to happen every turn (reload for 4.0s in turn or shoot in 0.2s at the same one turn). In Doom it was more intuitive, as you could do only so much in that certain time, so you had some sort of feeling how long it gonna last after few uses of powerup.

Powerup timers are based on how many actions you take, not time.

I thought the damage that's needed to trigger zerk is calculated before resistances, or is that true only for normal armour damage reduction? Maybe boots that make you immune to lava bypass this altogether, not sure.

BTW, I've found Gothic boots on that run, so I could at least get zerk for 1 hp, though I didn't really use that.

My theory would be that damage for Zerk is calculated before resistances, but if you take no damage (due to 100% resistance) then instead of damage you for 0, it won't bother running a "damage" calculation.

Basically, if you see "You hear the scream of a freed soul! No way! You're a pacifist!" then it's over- The what-did-you-kill-them-with function just broke, officially giving you a kill with your armour.  From that point on, the game will *ALWAYS* crash when writing a mortem.

How exactly does allowing you to use knives make this any harder? In fact to get Platinum includes the requirement for Gold anyway....

Oh, in *a* vault, not in *the* vaults.

Yeah, the Trigun was in a level 4 vault and the Jackal was in a lvl 21 vault... THe GCB was in THE vaults, however.

Hmmm... I was about to calculate the approximate chance of getting all the unique pistols on a single run, but I see you got the Trigun on level 4, even though the wiki claims it can spawn on level 8 and higher, so the data is probably way outdated.
Vaults are not subject to dlevel restrictions- The Trigun was in a vault.

Congrats. :) During my first AoMr run, the RNG gave me Anti-Freak Jackal and Trigun. I know how it feels.
And you'd have spazzed if you got GCB immediately after, yes?

Yeah, i mean when does the RNG dive the pistol uniques in a pistol game, ever? And on AoMr? VERY out of character.... I must've pleased it. And ALL THREE? Ah well, another gold badge & Arch-Vile rank for me:)

HALLELUYAH! Okay, on level 4 i was shocked- Not only did the RNG give me a Trigun in a game where i can USE it, but in AoMr? That's VERY out of character. THEN, i killed with speedloader-trigun until MGK, when i pulled out my power-modded pistol (as i'd almost never need to use a turn to reload). That was until the vaults- GRAMMATON CLERIC BERETTA! TWO pistol uniques in one game, AND ON AoMr???  That's just ridiculous. Blazing through with GCB and Trigun, reloading via MGK. then, level 21, ANTI FREAK(ING) JACKAL! ALL THREE of the main pistol uniques. In one game. OF AoMr. I don't swear much, but HOLY FUCKING TESTICLE TUESDAYS. Blazing through with GCB-Trigun-MGK, arch-viles dying in 0.57 seconds, damn, deathbringer. BUT, i was VERY low on medpacks- I had only a couple near the end. Fortunately my ridiculous armour (bulk, and later power modded red all the way through from anomaly) combined with my killing speed dominated Hell. ARCH-VILES HAVE BEEN NERFED- their attack now targets your square and waits a bit before hitting, leaving you time to run away. The Mastermind terrified me but was a pushover- bang-bang until she gets too close, run to the next side of the pillar around, then run till i was at the opposite side of the pillar and reload, swap, reload, swap. PUSHOVER. Got cocky though, glad of the last level's megasphrere-homing phase... Just a bit more than 100% damage, and that's with red armour AND enough missed shots to melt the wall behind me. Used a large medpack, kept fighting and here i am with my proudest achievement yet.

TRIVIA: With intuiton, the lever in Dis that removes the walls and lets you begin the battle, appears as a "lever (woah!)"
