Guys, I thought that you might post your sheets here for me to access them more easily. I'd be grateful if you did.

Thanks in advance.

Prologue: Path to hell, path to glory.

The sun flares from behind the armored glass, casting its light on the dark, ashen globe.

After two weeks of warp travel, enough to get any man sick, here it is. Malfi.
Vast mines, foundries, gun manufactures at least Hive Gunmetal big, if not bigger. Heavy machinery grinding all day, all night, producing goods, supplying three dozens of worlds.
Palaces of noblemen high in the sky, full of glamour and splendor. Crimson skies darkened with ash and fog.
Fifteen billion inhabitants, labouring every day in the name of God-Emperor, Him On Earth, The Savior of Man.

Malfi. The planet that could be the Calixis Sector capital.

But it is not.

And will never be.

The wasetland shimmers with the light of a dead lightbulb, while you gaze through the window.
"The Vigilant", gothic-class Black Ship Battlecruiser, slowly circles around the globe at its high orbit with you on board.

You find yourselves within a rectangular meeting room, the one that somehow resembles a shrine of sorts. Its walls are of polished steel, carved with many holy symbols - The Aquila, Two-Headed Eagle, the sign of the Holy Inquisition, the skull and the hammer...
The ceiling lies on four pillars of black marble, five metres high, one metre per one metre horizontally. The stone is polished and dark, flashes with the light of lamps, the ones hanging on the ceiling.
In the front, there is an altar. Behind it, on the wall - a small, square icon made in silver, the face of Saint Uthur The Cataplast, Thousand Times Wounded.
Hate to be that guy. You know, they say no statue of Saint Uthur is the same. Every single one has a thousand wounds on it. And not a single one is the same.

Funny.

Funny how many ways are there to make a man bleed.

In front of an altar there are several - four on the left, four on the right - benches, with these wooden planks to kneel on. Not polished like black marble, not polished at all. Makes every faithful a martyr of some kind. Like Uthur.

You both find yourselves here, waiting. Waiting for someone.
Waiting for the Inquisitor himself, as he comes and tells you - what does he want.
Waiting for him to tell you that if you don't obey, they shall have you praying to Uthur.

Minutes pass in dead silence as Malfi spins around, breathing smoke and dust.
Three or four of small spacecraft cross the screen, flying in the delta pattern.

Before we start, it is time for you to describe and introduce yourselves. Take your time and take it good. After all, we want you to be your characters, don't we?

The shell box doesn't supply the shotgun while move-reloading, as seen while running around with a tactical shotgun. The shells are picked from the inventory instead. Is it normal?

If you run with thieves,
then you die with thieves...

Greetings!

I know, I know my last attempt at Dark Heresy PBF here on Chaosforge was, well, rather miserable, badly mastered and lacking dynamics.
Maybe I even wasn't a good player (apologies especially to Malek for that Hackmaster incident, completely my fault - and Xander, for being far too passive in his PBFs).
I would be proud to say that that was then and now is now, not that anybody cares, but why not give a solid proof instead?

From what I see, at the moment Chaosforge's PBF board isn't the most popular one. Some Dwarf Fotress thingy, Doom: The Adventure and Malek's Hackmaster (forgive meee...).
What I would like to do is try and fill this gap, maybe not entirely, but at least make some traffic out there. And, who knows, maybe, just maybe it will happen to be awesome?

(This is where I tread to the point.)

Recently I had an idea for a Dark Heresy campaign. For those unfamiliar with the game I can supply with required materials, but some surface knowledge of the Warhammer 40.000's universe would be required in order to carry on. If you don't have any, don't worry - the materials would have it all, but it is not the smallest piece of text ever written...

The thing is set on a Hive World of Malfi. As seen in Core Rulebook, Malfian Nobility is a bunch of self-absorbed pricks, endlessly plotting against each other. Somehow, Lord Governor of the Calixis Sector manages to look in another direction if something brutal occurs, but this time one of the Noblemen gets accused of financially supporting the local rebellion. The consequences are grim - The Inquisition kicks in and starts the investigation. The air suddenly smells with fire, steel and rotten guts.

How do you delve into such individual's deepest secrets without alarming his peers that they should expect Imperial Inquisition?
This is where you happen to be. The Inquisitor hires a bunch of worst bastards he could find (preferably members of Scum profession, but some others will be tolerated) to get into, blend with and gain support of one of the most numerous criminal organizations of the Underhive, because rumor has it that the leader of the pack is - completely coincidentally, of course - planning on a heist, right in the hypothetical rebel's mansion.

Of course, you are most probably going to die trying, for the Underhive is a really bad place to live in...

There will be some intrigue, some more violent shootouts, and - most of all - some moral dilemmas for those who just buy this kind of stuff. What's the difference between the Crime Lord's attack dog and the Inquisition's attack dog, anyway?

(Hold on, we're almost at the point!)

Do I see anybody willing to participate?

"Yeah, not bad... not bad."

Would've been 100% if not these JC-spawned Hell Knights. Gosh.
Not much more to add. Blew up the sucker really good.
Now, bracing self for HMP at least.

Also, Spider Mastermind. *_*
Also(2), City of Skulls theme has some good atmosphere within. Fits in perfectly. Didn't enjoy The Brick Song as much as it, though.

Anyways. That's one magnificent piece of a game, Kornel and the rest of CF staff. Just took four hours out of my life until I finally managed to finish. And that's quite a thing for somebody who'd kill for four hours of good sleeping.

Traditionally - keep up the good work!

It is actually possible to assemble a three-mod weapon and two-mod armor without having WK(1).
Is it a bug?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Prologue : Hell beneath.
"I'm not afraid of high. It's just unsettling, a possibility to spit my lungs away before I'll meet the ground."

Planet Thyss.

Until the end of M39 and the beginning of M40, a backwater somewhere rimward from Lathes.
Despite, sometimes pleasant, tropical climate, mostly settled by orks. And malaria.
Today, after a discovery made in M40.002 by some misled expedition, an important corner of the galaxy.
The reason is a deposit.
Rare black marble, so much loved by noblemen from the whole Calixis sector, especially Malfian nobility, is being mined here.
Few trading houses have forseen the potential very quickly. Now, the whole place is worth approximately a small battlefleet.
Its loss would result in global unrest, that is a certain thing.
Perhaps this is why the Inquisition are interested in the place recently. Ordo Hereticus were almost as much expected as a rain in the midday.
But... Ordo Xenos ?

The green-blue globe of the planet is visible perfectly in the light of stars through the large, round-shaped window, the only one in the square hall around a hundred square metres you find yourself in.
Despite "The Madman" trading ship being an ancient work of Mechanicus steelshapers, the room does not look too much rusty or shabby, even if almost unfurnished. Banners of crimson red with a cog-wheel mark and those of white, wearing a golden "I" hang on the wall opposite the fenetre, some oil-painting illuminated by two lamp-packs right between the canvas makes a good impression along with a hulking round table of steel, with an Adeptus Mechanicus symbol carved in the middle. There are around eight not really comfortable chairs around it.
On the other walls massive door of steel can be seen, one on each, being in peaceful symmetry.
This is where you were told you are going to meet your new employer, the Magos Militiant Interrogator Mordecai Van Bohr.
A chronometer above the painting ticks silently, reminding you that the Interrogator is a bit late already.
Minutes pass in silence as you wait for your further fate to be revealed.

"This place's cursed, m'boy, the forest, the mine, the whole Throne-damned world. Not that it's wet, hot and damned mosquitos just don't let ya live,
n'even damned greenskins kickin' our butts every monday. Since I've been there, for twenty years of diggin' up marble for Malfian nobs on this forsaken
pile of junk, this damned site, the backwater hole long-forgotten by Our Lord, I saw a hundred or else... accidents. Bizarre things, yeah. Happenings with tools
left loose... You'd left rake tooths up an' sure as hell somebody'd kill himself on 'em. Stop laughin', idiot, come over an' see for yaself ! Gas exploding, but
you'd promise that counter-spirit was all mute. Corridors collapsing where everything seemed alright... No friggin' wonder that peoples are feelin' anxious an'
tensed up. There was even a riot or few, some guys died... Good professionals, what a pity. And since we uncovered these bizzaro ruins - like, say, a fine
building of steel... No, not a building, listen to me ! Tis ain't lookin' quite like an Imperial specialist's handiwork, rather like some twisted work of art... So that
damned monument which seems to be half-steel, half-plant, like jungle suddenly started shaping steel... An' bodies, scorched, their heds crush'd or exploded...
No quite humans, no, wierd suits an' pointy ears they had. But hush, shut up, you've heard nothin' ! I heard 'Quisitors sent their men here already, people
sayin' that's just an Inter-ro-whatnot, but still... Ya don't wanna be silenced, roight ? Me neither."

Okay, it took long, but here it is : the character creation topic for PBF i shall be gamemastering.
1)You have my permission on usage of any official rulebook (I encourage you to use Inquisitor's Handbook, which I find crafted of pure awesome). But if you plan to do so, let me know so I could take a look at them and know of your capabilities.
2)No more xenos for now - one Ork and one Eldar are just enough. (Rules for Orks provided by Gargulec. Huge thanks !)
3)On characteristics - you may either roll according to rulebooks or spend up to 100 points (naturally, adding Home World modifiers). Remember that you MUST spend at least two points on each, to a maximum of twenty points per characteristics. If you somehow make it over 50 points in the beginning - yeah, help yourself, congratulations. I'm not going to ban you since you are going to die anyway.
4)Divinations - feel free to roll, unless you want me to assign you one, according to your vision of your character.
5)I'm going to supply you with additional two hundred Thrones (or Scales, or Lords, or Slugs, or whatsover) for buying a starting equipment. Yes, Xenos too.
6)Think up a conception of your character - history's a must-have. Colorful characters will be rewarded. For Xenos characters it would help greatly if you told me about how did you join the Inquisition, but it is not really necessary.
7)This does not really accord to character creation, but please, be understanding - it's my first PBF and I wasn't GMing for a long, long time. Report to me any mistakes so that I could learn on my own errors and, if possible, correct them right away.
8)Xeno characters - in the beginning don't post yet. Each of you shall get an introduction.
9)The rest goes as normal.
We still have a few (around two or three) player slots unoccupied, so feel free to join if you want.

9
"If you dare enter these dark times, enter."

Recently I have been asked by some desperate tired with GameMastering (hi, G. !) to host a DH-based PBF. The idea, seeming strange for a first glance (never personally been that good to be dubbed an average Game Master, not to mention that my experience with sustaining a PBF consists of one storytelling thing that did not survive for a month, to be honest...), after a while of careful cogitations and pondering I decided to do my best. Free time is pretty much abundant here and now, which is not exactly true about good, reliable and active players. And other PBFs shown it pretty well that such highly wanted beings can be found on this there board.

Therefore, I want to invite you to take part in such. This one is going to be pretty different from the others (or at least I hope it'll be !), since final shape of this PBF shall be put directly into your hands. Yes ! I leave to you the decision about the kind of scenario we will be playing.

Do like this :
You get seventeen points to divide between :
Combat : Smiting the enemies of Him On Earth using various dangerous tools, fine tactical thinking and various other methods. Putting your points here results in me making better preparations in the matter of enemies you'll be fighting, focusing on making exciting battlefields offering good tactical options and else.
Intrigue : A general lookout on works of Planetary Governors, Nobles, high officers of Imperial Guard, fierce debates, cunning plans pitted against heretics covered in high places. Inserting your points there may result in further development of relations between NPCs (not to mention strife to make a fine climate of decadency, corruption and moral decay in Imperial high-life spheres - giving rather pessimistic view at the Dominion of Man's future).
Investigation : Missions mainly consisting of examining supernatural phenomena, tracking down hunted dangerous individuals. Mythos, arcane and forbidden knowledge. Invest here and you'll get respectable reason-result correlations grafted into the plot.
Exploration : A chase, escape or just examination of unusual places, maybe daring to visit Dead Worlds or some ancient Xeno ruins, crash sites or similar places of dread. Investition here is an investition into the world's look and history. In return you get well-prepared locations and their background.

I keep my right to dispose of fifteen points depending on my own look at the world. Just a little influence on the story, just in case I couldn't overcome any one of your needs.

It seems like I can host a game for five players (one slot already occupied by Gargulec, according to what he said before on PMs...). If it comes to expansions allowed, I must admit that I didn't get my hands on anything other than the main rulebook. But feel free to use them.
On unofficial : ideas can be thrown and I'll consider them.

Volunteers, anybody ?

That's it ! After two hours of intense kicking ass (or, more accurately, getting kicked in the ass - the version does not matter, Revenant packs still scare the crap out of me), a break for a meal and a bath, some intense swearing and a few revelations... I have managed to make a full win !
My thoughts :
-Gibbing makes life a lot easier and more funny. Mortuary was a hard, but still, piece of cake. The sound of splatter definitely has it, yes. And rewards, Good God !
-It's great that (prefix) weapons are finally gone. The Wall's reward just made my day.
-Hell gate ! Oh my, this piece has a climate !
-Monster Vaults look amazing with those shattered walls.
-Exotic stuff - another thing to be loved by me. Finally one can grasp his beloved gun more oftenly than once per a hundred games. But pink chainsaw looks a bit... umm...
Keep up the good work, Kornel !

...but RNG's still a sunnovabi4tch !

There was no single healing item on the whole level, and I was around 34% leaving Hell's Armory. A baron and a Hell knight. NO UNIQUES at all through the 11 layers of base. NO DOUBLE SHOTTY. Even ONE. Someone there really hates, hates me.

I loved the way shotguns kick asses now, but only those unarmored asses. Indeed MAD must be useful here. Finally there is a balance, IMHO. And chainfire... Mmm, now it really feels like a chaingun !

Finally Badass trait makes sense.

Badges ! One word. Cool.

The only thing I dislike is that Master Traits block too many possibilities of further character development, at a first glance. If each was blocking, say, two basic traits and one advanced instead of three basic ones, this would be ok.

In any other way, 0.9.9. kicks butt. Keep up the good work, Kornel !

The most rare unique, you say ? Oh, great. I'm soooo happy with it.
It was great that i could hold it in my hands, and put that legendary ultra-rare weapon directly into...
Ahem. Well. Never mind. It had got to hurt him.
Lack of firearms training. And lack of playing Quake, too.

Dual pistols and a ton of ammo, usage of around 11 small med-kits and 14 large ones, one envirosuit pack. And around 3KBs of intense swearing. Gosh...
