Hey thelaptop - What we need are about 5 different requirements to pick up the DS, but only one of them is chosen for each particular instance of the DS appearance. That should make for some great forum posts :P
And of course the requirements should be mutually exclusive, and you have only one chance per game to attempt picking it up.

There have been an awful lot of people picking it up lately.

It's really awkward seeing people theorize about how to pick it up.  Honestly I'm not sure how anyone figured it out just by experimenting.  I don't think I ever would have figured it out, if I'd ever even seen it :/

I'm simultaneously curious if 2Dev correctly deduced the special spawn requirement for the Dragonslayer.

The alternative would be player losing the experience that comes from monsters dying by suicide.
Or worse, losing out on YAAM!

Why exactly were you carrying the missile launcher around when you couldn't use it?  Just to grab it for your statistics?

Thinking about it, would it maybe have been possible to get the enemies inside to break the walls?

I'm disappointed that something that even a couple of supporters would want is simply non-negotiable, but fine.  I won't ever bring the subject up again.

Hmm?  When I tried the mouse wheel, it worked instantly with Juggler.

It might be best to think of DoomRL as roguelike rather than a coffee break game. You'll suddenly find it extremely forgiving and accommodating. In my days of youth, there often wasn't any saving at all...
It's funny because roguelikes allow saving.  Even the original Rogue.

For anyone who's curious, the reason the Scout's speed bonus works differently from other bonuses is that it actually changes the player's "speed", i.e. rate of "energy" regeneration which is the way varying enemy speeds change.  The other bonuses instead decrease the time it takes to perform whatever action.  The wiki has some information on the mechanics of energy and speed, but it seems outdated a bit since it doesn't mention the Scout's speed.

PS : The wiki needs fixing. Outrunning an angel of death with 2 HR and +10% from scout ability, should not be possible if he does indeed have 150% speed.
How so?  It gives you 0.64 seconds per move.

Honestly, I think Juggler should only work with the prepared slot.  The fact that quick-keys actually speed up the equipment time seems silly.

The mouse wheel doesn't instantly switch.  Or work in console mode, but mostly the first part.

Disregard, I'm stupid.  It is instant, it just doesn't give the usual message.

Wow, I think I'd crap myself if I just stumbled upon extra Bruiser Brothers.  I'm surprised that happens outside of Ao100.
