Century Lounge / [H|100%|Ao100|YAAM] It's still to heavy....

... and I'm way too calm.
Of all the things that happened in this run, not being able to pick up the DS on level 30 hurt the most.
MMB doubles your survivability against most damage types, plasma being the exception. However once I got the Medical Power Armor I decided to open up my horde of Mods and make an A Tactical Armor and juggle between the two while I built up my first Cerberus. Once it was done I juggled between it and the Tac Armor, ditching the Med Power Armor.
I had to be reminded of the RNGs sense of humor when after finding the Phase Shift Boots I decided to ditch the Gothic Boots I was aiming to make into Anti Grav Boots (10 Armor, +50% move speed. -75% Knockback) and Nyarlaptotep Boots and stick with the Phaseshift set. Next level I lose the Armor to a blind pack of Barons and a Nightmare Sergeant. And then I find Malek's Armor. Well Played.
Floor 93 gives me the Berserker Armor for added irony. If only...
So question, is there anything special if I nuke floor 100?

So I have say first off,AoB/AoLT is really AoB-lite. There is almost no downside to it (Usually Inventory is 100% Ammo or spare Phase Devices/Enviro Suits.) 5 Slots is more than enough for the occasional mod and Medkits. In exchange you get a 20% speed boost. I'd say that's a win. The run started fairly good, and by good I mean the first two levels weren't 50% Demons. It was Imps and Formers galore with a few Pinkies in there to keep me on my toes.
Leading up to UC I was hoping to be one level higher to make the Ripper. In hindsight my victory was only possible because I didn't. Instead I powered up my newly acquired Onyx Armor (Being indestructible, it stayed around long enough to keep me alive). Longinus Spear in hand I basically just speed ran the rest of the way to the Spider Mastermind. Over all this was a valuable learning experience.

If it wasn't for that meddling Angel of Death.
Its been a long while since I played. So long that I've had to start from scratch on my medals. After flubbing numerous AoMr and UV attempts I decided to return to my comfort zone of HMP and blow my way through. The major break for this run came when I found the Laser Rifle. After that everything died like it was nothing.
Approaching UC I decided to test the waters as I had a piercing Chainsaw, 2 ranks of SoB and 4 Large Medkits...it was NOT enough. I cleared the trash and decided to let sleeping demons lie and left forever abandoning my YAAM run.
Limbo was an interesting beast. I entered with Invuln and destroyed everything on the starting platform. I then just shot blindly into the sides for a while before dropping the bridges. Also found out that flipping the second lever for each bridge removes all the corpses from that bridge.
The run almost ended on Floor 23 as I started, unbeknownst to myself, on the other side of the wall from a Revenant, a Mancubi and an Archvile. I used one of my Homing Phase Devices and back tracked to kill them from a safer angle.
So to my surprise I found that you can't Homing Phase directly from the entrance of Dis to the exit after nuking the level. It made me worried when I went to kill JC but thankfully as it turned out, T1 High Powered Laser Rifles w/ Ammochain are crazy good.

So I finally got this game. After what, a year? Anyways this is a shout out to anyone who has it. Lets share silly stories and maybe team up for some co-op campaigns. Here's a little story I'd like to share about my current game.
Tokugawa, Hard Difficulty, Conquest Campaign
I had heard a bit of moaning about how hard this start was stemming from how stupid the AI is when it comes to defending territories. Shogun:TW did much better with keeping reserve units to defend the castle. Oda attacks me and I trash him. I am then free to storm his castle next turn. So Oda's gone now, I have Owari and everything is good, except Mino wants a piece of me as part of a scripted(and historically accurate) event where they attack Owari.
So I take Mino too, and I take it by stealing his castle out from underneath him when he goes to attack me. I use this technique a few turns later when and other clan to my left (forget the name) attacks. I just swoop in behind his army and take his castle. And poof, his army disappears from not having a clan anymore :D But it gets better. Imagawa decides to invade Hattori lands which give me the excuse to invade Hattori lands, seeing as I'm still his vassal... and twice his size... works for me.
So I push in and take Yamato with a little bit of a fight (A lone Yari Samurai lol) and a few turns later take Iga because - you guessed it - His army was stuck in my lands. Now I'm three times the size of my 'Lord'. At this point I lay low for around 20 turns and try to build up my dismal economy... During this Ikko Ikki starts to conquor the northern sea board then dip down into Shogunate territory. And after capturing Kii, goes after me. Needless to say I lost horribly, partly because my Yari Ashigaru broke in under 5 seconds and started running despite still being at 90%+ health. At least he lost half of his army. Of course the AI is just as stupid as ever and the next turn I send a ninja to Sabotage the army (BTW, I have the +2 Ninja Rank building in Iga so my ninjas kick ass out of the gate) and succeed. I then send my garrison (1 Y. Ashigaru and 1 A. Ashigaru) and retake the town and then proceed to take 4 more territories from him as he just face rolled them left them empty for some reason. I am now sitting at 9 territories to Imagawa's 3... uhh my Lord? I think we are a little lopsided, no?

I've been playing this a lot lately and probably will keep playing it for a while to come. I've also managed to hammer out a few basic tactics for surviving.
They are:
1) Make ballistic(A) Red Armor. This is almost mandatory. The 30% Bullet Res is amazing and the speed boost isn't bad either.
2) Scouts are your best friend. They move faster, can see the stairs and can skip EE for Int should choose to open Int 2
3) Don't be lazy! Use your shotgun to scout, not your face :P I've lost many runs to this.
4)Unless Zerking or Invulnerable, under no circumstances should you face Demons/Barons/Cacos in a straight up fire fight. They WILL one-shot you. And for me playing on N! this also makes running in place waaaay less effective as it only takes 1 shot.
Now for the actual run. Opened pretty nice. I managed to grab my shotty taking close to no damage and I got both small med packs(Not that I got the chance to use them all).
On level 2 I reached level 2 taking HR again for good measure.
On level 3 I had a close call with a Baron but it wandered off and I was able to play hide and seek, killing two of them. A little later I got level 3 and took HR.
On level 4 I started right next to the chained court so I used that to gain some free XP :D
On level 7 I was able to get another Zerk pack and an Invulnerable Globe. It also had stairs to the wall but I decided to cut out the middle man and go down the normal stairs.
Level 8 was an arena level and I got a fair bit of exp working my way to the stairs.
Level 9 opened on a risky note. I start right next to a commando so I gamble and kill him in three shots gaining a level... only to die to another commando a few moments later.
I'm making progress though. I hope to reach the Hellgate soon.

I know its not the fastest but its my own personal best and I wanted to enter. I had a pretty comfy run with lots of Supercharges and Invuln Globes around (Especially for the Aracno Cave on Hell 7!(?)) I could have shaved a few seconds on Level 1 and level 5 as I didn't have to kill some of the enemies to progress. The RL Studio replay is below.

The Secret Ingredient
You have long since passed the point of remembering how you got in the cell. You all have. Numerous cells lined the dark stone hallway; small candles providing barely enough light to see the grate to the cell. Every week, as far as you can tell, a well-dressed man colloquially called the Keeper and his guards come and take some of the other inmates away; soon after they bring in a new batch. And for days all you can hear is endless screaming followed by dead silence broken only by the faint drip of water from down the hall. Strangely you and several others have managed to dodge this fate for weeks now. You suppose this is thanks to the warnings on what is safe to eat when they bring food. No one knows where this knowledge came from but it’s kept you alive for now. Though not everyone gets or follows this advice. Anyone not deemed strong enough or useful was left to the Keeper each week.
While the screaming was certainly disquieting to anyone new, for the senior residents is was a chance to talk without being interrupted by guards. During your third week the screaming was broken briefly by a muffled cry of surprise from one of the cells further down the hall.
“Marcus? You get another message from our friend down the hall?” One of the men cried softly. A small voice called back after a few moments.
“W-we’re g-g-g-go-ing t-t-tonight…. Tonight!” Marcus stuttered back. A low murmur of excitement flowed through the hall, cut short by the entrance of the guards. THe noise had been just loud enough to grab the guard's attention. Quickly two men started bickering, drawing the guard’s attention. That was their job. The guard wearily made his way over, used to the routine by now.
With the guard taken care of you are left to prepare for tonight’s break. You don’t know much about your mysterious benefactor but whoever he or she is, they’re your only chance out of this hole. You can hear small scraping sounds from the surrounding cells as they dig out their contraband. What have you stored away?

A while back I picked up on a RP system called Roll to Dodge. The rules are pretty fast and loose allowing for more focus on RP and less on stats, but still subject to whims of the Random Number God. Basic rules are as follows
With that out of the way, back to the main topic. Is anyone interested in playing this? I can make any setting you want and will work to make a decent scenario if people show interest. If you are interested, please post your desired setting as well as your vote of interest. If no majority is reached I will pick one at random from generic settings to make a scenario from. I will be using a 3d6 table for anyone concerned by the small 1d6 range.

Very enjoyable. The map generation is much more varied and instead of all interconnected rooms its a mix of rooms and hallways. Libraries also no longer fill entire rooms 100% of the time and you can find groups of 2-4 Book Stands randomly in rooms. As a Sorcerer you can abuse using multiple staves with your recharge skill. Carrying 2 of a particular spell means you are likely not to run out before your own mana is a large enough pool to consistently cast from or you find another staff.
About this run in particular. The first rare I got was a Ring of the Sky after that I got all 'cursed' rares. The Butcher was cake because of the addition of grates. King Leoric was almost a problem. He has the ability to raise skeletons you kill. Now that's fine but he can do it faster than you can kill them so if you get trapped, you have to rush to kill him otherwise you'll never win.

Allright! From what I can tell, Manashield is pretty OP to get withing the first 5 levels of the game. I expect it to be changed but it can be used quite effectively as is. I never had to use a single Healing Potion/Scroll/Spell the entire run. Only a handful of Mana Potions.

Hello. I decided to make a smoother Fontset for the beta and at the urging of people on IRC, I've come here to post it. It is based off of the Terminus DF Charset.
So far I have graphics for the Crate, Locker, Bed, Healthpack, Human and Table. If anyone has any suggestions or contributions, post them and I'll add them in.

Started out fairly smooth. Started as an Technician and picked 1 level of Medicine & Sidearms and 2 Levels of Tech. I made circles from the Civilian Tower to the Medical Tower to the Engineer Tower to the Main Tower and back. Once I saved enough Exp I got another level of sidearms which helped immensely and then found my .44 colt. However I ran out of Ammo and Grenades just as I made it to the Main Tower and got trapped by an elite. Oh well better luck next time.

Ugh... this was just a run fest for me.
On...
Level 7: I get stuck in a Cacodemon cave...,
Level 8: I'm placed in an arena level and already hurting from level seven...,
Level 9-11: Didn't stick around for long, I just took the stairs as soon as saw them...,
Level 12: Found a supercharge so I decided to kill stuff and got level 5...,
Level 13-15: An Arch-Vile on each level. I was forced to 'Reconstruct' several walls to escape.
Level 16: Came in with almost no health, ran and got a small health globe, phased and killed 2 lost souls. Everything looked good. I grabbed a nearby health pack and was refitting my armor when BOOM!, a Revenant comes out of nowhere. I guess I should have used the pack right away.
Looking at the map in the mortem, I was pretty f***** anyways but it was still a fun run.
