-- General ---------------------------------------------------

4401 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 4113 of those were killed.
24 of those were killed by something unknown.
70 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
And 142 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.

 52 souls destroyed the Mastermind...
8 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.
31 killed the bitch and survived.
13 showed that it can outsmart Hell itself.

--------------------------------------------------------------

After quite a few attempts and many breaks in between to pursue other badges, I at last have obtained the Centurial Diamond... along with the silver, gold and platinum, of which the platinum earned me the rank of Marshal.

Early game is the hardest, as per usual - and I tend to try for at least a decent few kills before the hell knights show up, especially when there's humid air or a massacre lever around. Although I've seen Dodgemaster get taken before Blademaster, I took MBm first because of its incredible utility not just in shredding hordes, but in doing so in no time, essentially granting free experience and berserk time. (If I understand the mechanics correctly, 0-time kills with MBm also shouldn't count against berserk/invulnerability timers either.) I carried a shotgun for the early game, upgraded to a combat shotgun and eventually a tactical shotgun later as a backup weapon but I don't think I ever even needed to use the tac shotty at all. For the latter part of the early game, melee enemy caves were a blessing - melee enemies to practice on and berserk from, and often easily found powerups too! Invulnerability was a big part of this run, which made Int1 an incredible help - even with colour vision obliterated, there were plenty of times when I could see a ^ near me and move to investigate, leading to a few extra invulnerabilities, berserk packs, supercharges and similar.

Beyond that, I took a level in Finesse to further speed up my stabbings, then detoured to grab the extra brute and hellrunner levels that opened up. As it turns out, Brute 5 turns the Chainsword into an absolute death machine. When you can dodge right up to a crowd and cut the whole swarm apart in a hit or two each - with Blademaster cutting the time down significantly - not much is a threat, and anything that is will almost instantly berserk you and cease to be a threat. After those, I took the extra hellrunner to aid both the stairdiving and the ability to close in on enemies - less chances to knock me back and much more chance to dodge rapid fire attacks. Beyond that, I went towards Whizkid in case I got the chance to make anything incredible, or even a second chainsword to upgrade - but I never got much use out of the second level of it.

AP Onyx Armour was pretty good for a lot of the game - 4 protection, not a lot of movespeed penalty, pretty decent while berserked. Late game, though, I swapped out for an onyx-modded energy shielded vest for permanent resistance to fire/acid/plasma - pretty effective against almost everything that would be facing me before I got into melee range, at which point I'd be ripping things apart and getting Blademaster freebies anyway. I didn't quite get to make it cybernano, but I did get a power mod on it, giving it 3 protection on top of the resistances - which, incidentally, made me practically immune to those damage types while berserk. (Only 5% damage, minus 3? That's about 100 damage needed to go as high as 2!) I didn't really encounter much of note - there was a nightmare arachnotron cave I passed through, and I deliberatly went after the two cyberdemons I saw to up my kill count, but I didn't even notice a lot of the nasty stuff I chewed through. I noticed exactly one of the 16 bruiser brothers, and I had no idea I'd even met a nightmare arch-vile! Oh, and I carried the rocket launcher in case I needed it or could make it nanomachic, and I did encounter one good time to blow a wall open with it... on an invincible walls level. (Tall room on the left, stairs at the bottom, entrance at the top, viles and mancubi inside)

All in all, I'm... honestly still not very sure of what the strategy for N! Ao100 is - other than "grab invulnerability, run towards stairs, stab things in way until overpowered" - but that seems to work just fine. Maybe I'll get around to doing it again on ArchAo666 sometime... but for now, back to the diamond collection! I've managed to get a couple of N! AoMr characters into Deimos, so maybe...
