Interlude: Q&A Session
With the brief face-stuffing session over, after some prompts from the colony's lone survivor, you gathered up your gear, loaded up as much food and drink (alcoholic and otherwise) as you could carry, and began making your way towards the main tower. As a side note, there wasn't much in the way of vodka available in the storehouses, as opposed to mind-boggling amounts of scotch whisky.
At any rate, you moved through the storage tower, and then the security tower. If climbing the stairwells was unpleasant with just the emergency lighting, being able to clearly see all the bodies littering them as you moved from step to step only made it worse. Especially the bodies of the colony's security force, in their various states of dismemberment and uniform states of decay. The smell at least was somewhat lessened with the air filtration systems back up to full power. Still, you could make out the olive green body armour and the odd bright blue beret left lying around the place, sometimes even with a head still attached. You passed the heavier-armoured corpse once more, the peculiar suit coloured a plain black where it wasn't stained with blood, with a peculiar white cross-shape over one shoulder. You could also see a heavy machinegun by the dead man's side, badly bent, as though it'd been used as a bludgeon one time too many.
Eventually, after a few close calls narrowly avoided thanks to the guidance from the lone survivor, you made your way to the Main Tower, and once there, to the fifth floor. The level seemed to be given over to monitoring stations and, as the signs signified, the primary communications control room. After some more guidance from the helpful voice in the walls, you finally found yourselves standing outside one of many monitoring stations, the door electronically locked from inside, as the panel next to it proclaimed.
