Sadly, this time Roshal's shots failed to find their mark.

Picking her mark once more, Ira unleashes a burst at the servo-mech; quietly wondering how much more the bugger could take.

Apparently, not much more. The servomech practically fell apart when the burst of fire slammed into it, the sensor pod knocked off its mount spewing sparks and smoke.

Things were quiet again. As an added bonus, the guards had come out through one of the key-locked doors in the east wall... and didn't close it behind them. You couldn't see much past it for the smoke, though you could make out a safety railing in the room beyond.

Mad jumped out from behind his cover, thinking forward to gun the mech down. Seeing the machine unfunctional and smoking on the floor, he let his weapon down, not pulling the trigger. For a while he seemed suprised.
"Good shootin', Ira.", he commented, smiling. "Now, let's put bloody BlastPacks in their rightful places and proceed forward, eh ? Those fellows seem to be almost endless."
Saying this, he collected weapons of fallen ones, securing them and putting into his bag, shoving them behind his belt or else. "Just in case somebody could overcome the gene-lock..."

"Come on, Roshal, clock's ticking."

"Yeah, let's head out," Roshal replied as he switched his weapon to safety and put it away before following Matt back to where they were heading before the great shoot-out.

'Good job, guys' said Viggo and threw away what remained of his gun, mumbling 'Blasted thing...' and spitting. He was apparently furious.

'Ira, take the lead. Enter the room and blast all cameras you can see, and then cover me while I set the charges' he ordered.

Ira nodded, still on the combat rush; checking her weapon and reloading, keeping herself ready for any other surprises as she walks towards the indicated doorway, weapon at the ready.

Searching the bodies of the troopers yielded up, as well as their weapons and ammunition, a bit of money as well. 37 credits between the four troopers. Viggo found a further 19 credits on the officer, as well as a keycard in one vest pocket. Luckily it didn't appear to have been damaged in the fighting. You also found additional ammunition, ten spare magazines, plus the five unloaded from the looted weapons - some of those have no doubt been depleted a little.

Matt and Roshal returned to the room with the guard dispatched by way of knife. It doesn't look as though anyone happened upon him, the pool of blood surrounding him was pretty much undisturbed. Not much to see in this room, save the pipes running along the walls and the door in the northeast corner of the room, on the north wall.

The room Ira investigated provided a bit more in the way of results. The first thing to catch the eye were massive metal support pillars, three of them at the east end of the room, spanning the height of the room and disappearing into the floor and ceiling. The only security measure around them as such appeared to be a waist-high safety railing. Further inspection showed similar, though smaller supports in the northwest and southwest corners of the room, these unsecured by any means. The west side of the room was taken up by a teleport staging area consisting of a teleport pad, inactive by the look of things, surrounded by another guard railing. Further east down the room you saw two forcefield cages, one with walls its still active, one not, both empty. Further still, in the very northeast and southeast corners, you could see security cameras nestled, panning back and forth calmly. Aside from the two doors on the west wall, two more doors were on the east wall as well, on either side of the massive supports.

So far, no further enemy contact to speak of.

Viggo gave Ira quick pat on the back.
'Shoot the cameras, would you kindly?' he said to her hear.

"Matt, let's head for that door.  Also, no heroics this time -- I don't want to have to bust your ass once more," Roshal muttered in a low voice.

"Mmmkay, got it.", he responded, drawing his gun and unsecuring it. He followed Roshal's commands, moving in the vanguard.
Naturally, if we can talk about different kinds of formation in a group of two people.

Roshal unholstered his weapon and switched the safety off and followed Matt closely behind.

Ira jumped slightly at the unexpected contact, drawing a sharp breath; but calming reasonably fast, replying to Viggo's request with a quick nod and a single shot at the nearest camera; hoping her aim holds.

Ira's shot was on target, and the camera in the southeast corner of the room exploded out in a shower of sparks. One down, one to go.

Meanwhile, the door that Matt and Roshal approached looked like pretty standard fare. Sliding, rather than hinged, with a plain on/off activation switch off to the side. Possibly a bit reinforced compared to the other ones they'd come across so far, but nothing too serious. No sign of a lock or anything of the sort. You can just barely make out some voices on the other side of the door.

"Fuck. Awesome. It's a settlement, not an outpost, dammit !", hearing the voices Mad whispered angrily, his face twitched nastily in fury.
He leaned his ear against the door, trying to work out how many voices are heard there. He was a musician, after all, it should be a simple thing for his sharp hearing.
"Got a plan or it's just we simply dash inside and kick butties as normal ?", he asked after a while, stepping back, whispering.
