Saliak bared his teeth at the firey barrage. He spares a moment's thought for the future. Bahumat, if I die here, let me rest and face my father in peace. Focusing his eyes on the hulking mass in front of him, his thoughts are more direct. His bulk could crush us with ease. The runes have the strength to bind him in place, though. A golden rune appears on the back of Aden's armor as the Dragonborn steps forward, a loud growl coming from his throat.

If this hits, the Overlord will be immobilized until the end of my next turn.

The fireball singed Ma'kirr, but soon her fur bristled back. With blood lust in her eyes, she charged at the Overlord. Striking him in the leg, she followed up with a series of light blows making him stumble sideways. Without giving him a chance to breathe, she regained some of her composure and started striking the air around her. While it looked silly, the Overlord felt her blows all the way across his body.

You were quite certain your blows struck the Overlord - you could hear them ringing against the armour covering him - but he did not seem to be at all troubled by any injuries caused. Only Ma'kirr's blows forced him back a step, and from that he came back quickly, sweeping his mace in front of him. The monk was nimble enough to jump out of the way, but Saliak and Tristan got caught by the full force of the blow, which knocked them off their feet and sent them flying through the air - the paladin skidded on his back down the corridor, while the runepriest took a brief tumble down one of the stairs before being stopped by the grate.

Coughing up blood, Saliak stood, readying for another barrage from the creature. Such speed, such strength...There is fight in me yet. Recover yourself, then probe for weaknesses. It must have some... Taking a deep breath, the dragonborn came to his senses and traced a rune in the air, focusing his power on Tristan.

Just as quickly as the Overlord approached, Ma'kirr retreated. Once again she began striking the air in the Overlord's general direction. This time the attacks were focused on on his legs.

For all your efforts, the Overlord didn't seem to slow despite all the punishment you directed at him.

"I have a better idea," the Overlord replied to Tristan's challenge. Once more you saw a light flare up on his left gauntlet, and as he raised the hand to you, you saw a swirling fireball contained in the palm of his hand. "Catch."

The fireball leapt towards you, landing in your midst, its flames washing over you and leaving serious burns. Worse yet, the Overlord did not stop at that - as soon as the blast rolled over you, the huge armoured figure moved towards the south-side stairwells, mace swinging around. Saliak barely had time to flinch before the flanged macehead caught him square in the chest and smashed him into the stairwell's wall with a loud crack. As the Overlord turned to face the rest of the group, you could see the Dragonborn collapsing to the floor unconscious, a sizeable dent in the masonry plainly visible where mace, runepriest, and wall had met.

"You want a glorious last stand? You will all die here, and none will know if you fought well or begged for your lives on your knees like sniveling cowards. Cease your struggles and I'll grant you all a swift end! Go on... make it easier on yourselves..."

    That hurt... Ma'kirr winced at the flames burning her. After make sure she wasn't on fire, her attention was brought to Saliak being sent to the ground. Now!
    Swiftly she made her way around the Overlords back where she recuperated for moment.
