Jace falls in step alongside Emuleio. "How is it that I'm hearing your thoughts, anyway?"

   "I'm... not sure how you are hearing my thoughts exactly, if you are. The Emphkrin tattoo merely lends itself to those in close proximity of me who have been around long enough for me to make a connection. And all that really is is a heads up to any immediate and dangerous hostile intent as it approaches. Convenient, eh?"

"That... makes sense, I guess. Though now I'm really curious as to how I know that Sho Lee thinks Michael is just being paranoid..."

Samuel looks back at the broken fourth wall.  Uh oh, Jace is ruining everything!

"If you have something to say, then say it. Since apparently our thoughts aren't private." Jace turns his attention back to the craggy outcropping. "Please tell me we won't be going in the cave."

Sho Lee shakes his head, but noticing everybody getting quite interested at the cave piques his curiosity also.  Sho focuses his mind, preparing to mentally search the cave opening for anything of importance.

"Jace, you're welcome to wait here for us to return."  Sam finds Jace's worries to be quite silly; what sort of adventurer won't go in a cave?  Although... to be honest, Sam also can't help but admire someone who chooses such a profession despite their fears.

"I'll even let you in on a tiny bit of my share of the loot," Sam says, hoping to coax Jace into continuing by embarrassing him a bit.

Jace stammers his reply. "I do not do well in tight spaces. Caves, crowded common rooms, markets during harvest season, the library in the Cathedral of Yak, actual deathtraps where the walls close in around you... okay, I haven't been to those last two, but still no thanks. Give me wide, open spaces any day of the week. And why would I want to share boots?"

"Sharing boots is a sign of good will where I come from!" Sam says, unable to keep a straight face.  "But I suppose it may seem strange to people unfamiliar with different social standards - like hygiene for example."

I suppose it does make more sense not to narrate my thoughts, but my narrative feels boring that way.  I'll take that as a challenge, though.

    Maoun's face cracks a smile at the last remark. Turning to Jace to make another comment, he thinks better of it - not wanting to ruin the joke.

After a minute or two you arrive at the end of the path. Behind a curtain of of vines - which should be easy enough to move past or clear away using Michael's sword - you can see a beggining of an entrance corridor, wide enough for two men, ending with aa large wooden door. On the ground before the door there's a plain woven mat with some writing sewn on it.

Decided not to roll Sam's find traps roll yet, seeing as you didn't know the bit about a door and a mat - if you still want to do this state so. Sho Lee's Sixth Sense shows nothing.

The letters felt so familiar, but as hard as he tried Maoun couldn't make out their meaning. He felt like he should die of shame.

Jace moves near Maoun and start to talk. "There there, don't fret. It's probably just a warning that this is a dragon's nest or something deadly like that anyway."

   "Thanks, I guess. I'm just glad my eyeballs didn't explode or something."
