Requests For Features / Change armor "damaged" thresholds

I'm posting this here to get opinions on an idea I had and some applications of it.
The idea is to allow each armor to set its own "damaged" and "severely damaged" states (the point at which the armor loses half and three-quarters of its protection and resistances). Right now, all armors go damaged at 50 and severely damaged at 25, regardless of their maximum durability.
This is mainly as a benefit to modders, but I had one application for this: to nerf Malek's Armor very slightly by making it go damaged at 75 and severely damaged at 37. (Consequentially, if you like this idea and know of anything else that could use this treatment, feel free to make mention of it :) ).

Have you ever wanted to go through DoomRL without having to worry about classes, or levels, or special floors, or XP? Well, you're in luck, because that's what this module is all about! It's the basic DoomRL game where you can't level up, and your trait/class doesn't help you!
The original purpose of this module was as a test for a proposed challenge mode by Game Hunter as described here. This is the fourth version, here are the last 2 difference lists.

Requests For Features / Dodging behavior change

The way dodging works in the game is a little odd and the most interesting cases occur when you enter a monster's line of sight.
When you enter a monster's line of sight, they have a chance to attack you right away (since in the turn order, you move first). The oddness of this is that, since you moved, you have a chance to "dodge" the projectile they fire, which if you came around a corner, means they could hit the wall next to you.
What would be nice is if this behavior was flipped over: instead of having a chance to dodge a projectile when you enter their line of sight, maybe there's a chance they attack you *after* you leave their line of sight, with a chance to dodge there. So you can end up running back behind a corner and on the imp's turn, he throws a fireball that you "dodge" past the corner and it hits the wall in the back. That would be a nice touch.

Sweet! First Ao100 win!
So yeah, ammochain is a beast, especially with a rapid fire weapon that auto recharges like the nuclear plasma rifle. I had no ammo problems the rest of the game. In fact, the game dropped 2 nano packs (which I added to a couple of backup weapons, like that triple P modded plasma rifle), and just about every exotic weapon in the game: 2 super shotguns, 4 (!) shockwave packs (none of which I used or took to a different floor), 2 assault shotgun, chainsaw, BFG9000, nuclear plasma rifle, combat pistol, tristar blaster, missile launcher, napalm launcher, and a few others. The cybernetic armor dropped, but I picked it up and immediately dropped it. Same thing for quite a few other exotics/uniques, many I just left behind.
With the 2 Tech packs, and Finesse level 2, I was firing that plasma rifle at 0.39 s / shot, and since both of them were self-charging (although at different rates), I could actually fire non-stop with the help of a instant swap from juggler. I wore the nanofiber phaseshift for most of the game, but then switched to the BPT modded Energy-Shielded Vest (I needed more protection at that point). By this point, I was mowing EVERYTHING down (Cybies took just a bit longer), and was just hoping to finish without doing something really stupid, like push a barrel into lava again (yes, again... and this shall not be spoken of again :P ).

Modding / Random map idea

I put together a level generator that would create a level with a little more variety than the typical block room layouts. It's attached to this post. Just unzip it to the modules folder in your DoomRL directory to put it in.
There is both a single level and an episodic version, so you can feel how it can play out as it's own level or in a (somewhat) regular game.

That's exactly what happened, and it was pretty much the only unique I got in the game (except the Longinus Spear, and everything was toast once I got that). Since I never found anything better, I held onto it for the rest of the game. First AoB win of 0996 for me!
I didn't even notice level 21 was an arch-vile complex until I looked at the mortem.
Also, check out where Cybie spawned when I entered Babel (picture attached). Good thing I was invulnerable!

Bug Reports / [Fixed][0.9.9.6G] Mouse-run ending early prevents "You see a ____ here" messages

If command for mouse running stops because a monster comes into the field of view, messages for items on the ground stop showing up until a mouse move (>= 2 spaces) is completed successfully (that is, without seeing a monster).

Even though I can't use them, I still like to pick up exotics and uniques when I come across them, even when I already have them. So after I picked up the BFG9000 on Halls of Carnage, I decided to finish clearing out the level, and discovered that my Berserker trait no longer triggered.

Bug Reports / [0.9.9.5] Phobos Base Entry Edge Walkable

Normally, the edge of the map is not traversable, even if it's occupied by tiles that you can normally walk on (rivers do this).
But the right edge of the Phobos Base Entry (where there are no walls) IS traversable, despite being on the edge of the map.
The game doesn't let you move off the map, just the pathing is a little inconsistent.

0.9.9.5 / [E|99%|YAVP] Ridiculous!

The badges and rank increase didn't save again, since in my effort to close the game, it decided on freeze up on me.
Level 21 had THREE invulnerability globes. THREE!! I had enough time to finish level 21, level 22, and run through the lava pits and grab an envirosuit pack before it ran out (I still had plenty of time to spare).
The game was dropping exotics and uniques left and right. I even missed a unique, and still got Aurora.
On top of all that, there was an invulnerability globe near the stairs to the Mastermind! Free Mastermind's Brain medal!
Of course, since I've lost save data twice already, I think I'm going to wait for 0.9.9.6 before I resume. This version's giving me so much trouble keeping my player data that I'm thinking about giving up on it.

Level 21 had THREE invulnerability globes. THREE!! I had enough time to finish level 21, level 22, and run through the lava pits and grab an envirosuit pack before it ran out (I still had plenty of time to spare).
The game was dropping exotics and uniques left and right. I even missed a unique, and still got Aurora.
On top of all that, there was an invulnerability globe near the stairs to the Mastermind! Free Mastermind's Brain medal!
Of course, since I've lost save data twice already, I think I'm going to wait for 0.9.9.6 before I resume. This version's giving me so much trouble keeping my player data that I'm thinking about giving up on it.

It turns out beating Angel of Marksmanship is very hard when you have no ammo. I had to resort to punching the Cyberdemon.
The Gothic armor + boots fortress bonus would have been nice to use versus the Cyberdemon, but it wouldn't work! Attempting to move into the Cyberdemon gave the "You can't!" message (since you can't move when wearing both), and attempting to use the F key without a weapon gives the "You have no weapon!" message. So, I had to go without the Gothic Armor. I could have worn it without the Gothic Boots, but I think the 20% fire resistance was doing just as well. Also, the Gothic Armor's ridiculous movement penalty probably wouldn't have helped.

This run was one wild ride. I never really had any experience with the assemblies until I made the useless nanofiber Onyx Armor, but this run, I decided to try something different. I thought I'd attempt to get some assemblies.Constructing the Chainsword was a matter of luck, since I have never looked up any of the mod combos needed to make them (I want to discover them on my own). I was so glad I did, since I somehow missed the Chained Court. I think it was trapped on the other side of a large Acid River with a blocked bridge. No matter, the Chainsword worked wonders.
Once I discovered fireproof armor, I used it until I got red armor (I created it out of blue my first time).
My main goal was just to get Berserker silver: Hit 16, then call it good. Let me tell you, Bruiser Brothers on AoB are not pushovers. I had to use a couple armors (of various colors) and several large med-packs. Once I split them up, I could actually kill them without losing a quarter of my health every turn.
Big sigh of relief once I cleared Hellgate. I that point, I felt like it was mission accomplished, and everything else is just icing.
That was pretty much the rationale for entering the Cathedral. I was like "Why not? I've already got what I came for, what do I have to lose?"
I hit XP level 6 while I was in the Cathedral, so getting Vampyre let me relax and not have to kill everything anymore. Clearing Cathedral and getting the Longinus Spear further cemented that feeling. 8-64 damage is nice to wield.
At that point I started taking shortcuts. Any level I didn't want to deal with was handled by running to the stairs as fast as possible. Which was most of them after level 20. 2 of the last 4 levels I started near the stairs, one of them wasn't too difficult, and level 24 was pre-planned (thanks to a Homing Phase Pack I had been saving). I took some time out after using the Homing Phase Pack, since the stairs area was clear, to make a fireproof red armor, which was a great help in the Cyberdemon battle.
Speaking of that, he was a pushover. I Berserked on the first rocket hit, and after that, the rest is history.
This makes not only my first Victory on AoB ever, but my first victory on HNTR ever. Yay!!
Badge count now is [22/5/3/0/0].
EDIT: Well, I didn't Berserk on the first hit, but it sure did feel like it.

Oh, so close. I almost had my first Angel of Marksmanship win, but my carelessness cost me.Things weren't too bad starting out. I ended getting Onyx Armor + Power Mod and Red + Power Mod early on. Most of the time I wore the Onyx Armor, as not to waste the precious 6 defense early on, but I made a mistake.
I thought I'd try modding the Onyx Armor again (in a fruitless attempt to make it even better more and hopefully be able to free up some inventory space), but I didn't realize that the resulting assembly would not only lower it's protection below it's original value of 2, but also give it a bonus of auto-repair that it didn't even need. Whoops.
That didn't stop me though. I decided to switch to my 6 defense red armor and press on. The Revenant Launcher I found was useless (Angel of Marksmanship and all), but I hadn't encountered it yet, so hey, another unique to add to my growing list. Then Butcher's Cleaver (also useless). Then Shielded Armor. Sweet! Finally a unique I could use.
After level 19, things got hairy. 20 was an Arachnotron cave, which led to 21 which was... another Arachnotron cave. I left that one pretty quick.
The decision to go to the mortuary was only because I hadn't been there yet (hello Bronze Badge!), and also because I had a Homing Phase Device (hello Silver Badge!). I got out of there quickly, but not before grabbing several red armors, a large med-pack, and a soul sphere, all of which I desperately needed.
The Lava Pits... was as a shortcut to avoid having to deal with Revenant + Arch-Vile combo that was blocking the normal stairs, which the two of those nearly killed me and destroyed a couple armors I had. I apparently forgot to equip armor after that, since 24 was... yet another Arachnotron cave. I made the mistake of walking into the line of fire of 3 Arachnotrons, naked. 30+ health wasn't enough to stop 9 direct hits in a row. I think the Random Number Generator got tired of me.
I have some sort of goal in mind when I start a game. The goal for this one was to get pistol kills on Mancubi to raise my XP rank. Mancubi pistol kills this session: 1. My only one. This might take a while...

Requests For Features / More Refined Item Sorting

I know this seems minor, but a couple of things about the way the game sorts the items are annoying:
1) Ammo Packs are sorted to the bottom of the list. I think they should be placed after the rest of the ammo, or maybe even after their own normal ammo counterpart.
2) Within an item type, items do not appear to be sorted in any particular order. Especially noticeable with Armor. Maybe the game should sort armor by attached mods, then by remaining durability.

Bug Reports / [0.9.9.4] Two starting mod packs on AoMr?

I started a game of AoMr right after finishing a AoB game, and the game gave me both an Agility Mod Pack and a Technical Mod Pack from the very start of the game, in addition to the standard equipment. I don't think that was supposed to happen.
